Re: Two more questions on the Paris show...

- At the 1997 shows (Linz, Karlsruhe) the videoclips came from a Laserdisc Player in the Kling Klang consoles (I remember the 'wrong' videoclip startet at "Musique Non Stop" in Linz, 'cause Fritz forgot to change the videodiscs ;-) ). As the Kling Klang consoles are now gone - is there any hint, where the videos come from? Did any of the members (Fritz?) change some discs during the show? If not, maybe they come from DVD or harddsisc from their SONY Vaio notebooks now?
i know FOR_SURE ( fyi : first hand info !!! ) that kw spent the last 4 or 5 years mostly with transferrin' audio- & video-data from ol' media to new media & the videos that once were on laserdisc are now on dvd !!! ALL their music is now sampled & on harddisks , in order that they can use these notebooks etc. !!! FACT is that they are now much more interested in "DESIGNIN'" their performances , than in creatin' @ least SOMETHIN' new & really INNOVATIVE_!!! :-/ a really BIG_DISAPPOINTMENT of their most recent shows was the fact that they chose to play the inferior & still UNFINISHED "tango" extension in combination with their ol' "airwaves" classic , instead of the by now sadly totally OVERPRODUCED "tribal" song , which WAS a hundred times better , as they last performed it , imho ... of course !!! :-o 'nuff said for now , folx !!! however ... many greetinx , oh jay ;-) *~\^/~*
The refinement and further mechanization/computerization of Kraftwerk is exactly what they said they wanted to do for years. Do you need a new interview to explain? It's all in their lyrics: "I programme my home computer Beam myself into the future" They plan to do things they couldn't do yesterday. Their man/machine project is still the most relevant thing going. And with so many musical clones out there more musical statements aren't really necessary. It's a Kraftwerk world and you're living in it. Oh Jay wrote:

Didn't they do this also in the 1986 - 1990 / 1991 period? AFAIK - Ralf "Herr Kraftwerk" Huetter mentioned it more then one time - since 1990 / 1991 every Kling and every Klang Kraftwerk ever produced is stored digitally, of course thanks to Fritz Hilpert (we know who you are ;-) ). BTW, could you define your 'first hand info' more concrete ;-)?

Well, the design of Kraftwerk's performances have always been an important point. And, if you look at the graphics on the "Expo 2000" cover, also the www.kraftwerk.com-Posters, the 'new' stage concept is just a consequent and logical step: The graphics of the inlay / the poster show four people, everyone standing in front of a flat console, but no Kling Klang-Studio, no big consoles, behind them.
(...) a really BIG_DISAPPOINTMENT of their most recent shows was the fact that they chose to play the inferior & still UNFINISHED "tango" extension in combination with their ol' "airwaves" classic , instead of the by now sadly totally OVERPRODUCED "tribal" song , which WAS a hundred times better , as they last performed it , imho ... of course !!! :-o
Well, I like this "Tango" song (BTW, why "Tango" ?) veeery much ;-) so dark and rough... (what I really missed are the nice 'wireframe' dresses and, of corse, the "Tribal" song) ...but, as Kraftwerk, as it seems, sent their four robot dummies to an old peoples (robots) home, they need not to spend their time to re-program them. So, maybe, they have more time to concentrate their music. I personally don't expect a new product 'aus dem Hause Kling Klang' before 2012. Good things need time ;-). Ying und Yang, Kling und Klang, Sturm und Drang. ;-) Georgie
