Anyone on the list into Brit electro band, Ladytron? Bought their first album, '604' the other day, there is a track called 'He Took Her To A Movie'. There's no acknowledgments to Kraftwerk on the sleeve notes and the vocals are different of course but the music in the background is 'The Model'! There are obvious influences from Kraftwerk throughout the album. I also found an MP3 on the net of an interesting heavy metal version of 'The Model' by RAMMSTEIN. I get the impression it's being performed live at a fashion show? Anyone wants to hear it, let me know. Excuse me if any of this has been mentioned before but I thought you may be interested. Shaun

Ladytron's entire sound is an update of early 80's electro, so just about anything in that category is an influence. The one melody is essentially the same as "The Model", but I've heard other songs appropriate that melody even more blatantly. It's practically a standard by now. ;)

My impression is that it is a studio track with a fashion show-type intro. Many people single this out as their least favorite Kraftwerk cover. I really don't think it's that bad, but it certainly isn't great either. -Eric

I think it's funny. Almost like a parody, or a poke in the ribs for Kraftwerk. :) -- /* Soleil */
