Never mind. My memory is pretty hazy on that, and I may have made a mistake. I remember you getting into a flame war with someone else on the list a few months back, and talking about "plain facts" that were neither plain nor facts.
well ... i've tried to explained it as good as i could back then , why it were ( & still are !!! ) "plain facts" for me !!! anyway ... my personal experience has proven me right & i can ONLY rely on what i've personally experienced in the end !!!
So say all fanatics. :)
fyi : without the smiley behind it , i would have taken it as another personal insult , but now ... i jus' see it as a snide remark , which doesn't make it any better then !!! :-/
not just those who qualify as dedicated stereo equipment connoisseurs.
fyi : i'm NOT one of those "dedicated stereo equipment connoisseurs" , as i use very average equipment @ home , so u're WRONG_AGAIN with one of your assumptions , mr. lapierre !!! :-/
I also now think it's wrong to speak of one system being "better" unless you're prepared to break out measuring equipment to scientifically compare the two. Until that happens, you can only speak of one being better for a particular person, ie vinyl is better for you and CD is better for me.
WOW_!!! >:-O it really seems as if u've indeed learned somethin' from this debate ... finally !!! *BWG* ;-)))
You haven't demonstrated that it can. At this point you're only asserting.
well ... as u live in canada & i live in germany , i could ONLY "demonstrate" it to u , if we would actually met in real life , which isn't very likely ... @ least not in the nearer future , as i suppose !? ;-)
Haha! I am the man-machine, of course. :)
hm ... i was indeed thinkin' to make "the turner test" with u , to actually find out , if u're not jus' a computer program that wants to fool us all in the end !!! *LOL* ;-)))
And before you say that I also made personal attacks for saying things like vinylists are living in a dream world: Yes, those were bad things to say and I admit I went a bit overboard. They weren't exactly personal attacks (at least not like yours) because they were directed at a group; it then fell to sensitive members of that group (like yourself apparently) to take it personally.
it's even much more of "a bad thing" to say , when u DELIBERATELY_INSULT a whole group of people ( "vinylists" etc. ) , which is only A_MEAN_GENERALIZATION_!!! *sigh* :-o yes , i admit that i sometimes personally attack certain individuals , if i think that they are WRONG , like i did in your case ... but it's certainly not as bad as DELIBERATELY_INSULTIN' a whole group of people with such plain & indeed very mean & totally unjustified generalizations , like u did !!! *grumble* :-/ btw : this can very easily end in fascistic / rassist or similar ruthless remarks , as u would criticise a whole group of people then , of whom u only know a very few ... if @ all !!! *grim* :-/ so the next time u like to criticise "vinylists" in the way that u did this time , u should be aware of THE_PLAIN_FACT that i WON'T let u nor anybody else escape unpunished for utterin' such A_MEAN_GENERALIZATION here , mr. lapierre ( or whoever ) !!! *pretty_stern_look*
The same applies to you. You've done nothing to prove you're right either. In the light of experience provided by others in this thread, it seems that it may actually be impossible for either of us to prove ourselves right.
nope , but it doesn't seem to be possible in the "virtual" world a.k.a. the i-net , to prove it right ... ONLY with more or less plausible arguments , BUT in the real world , if we could actually put some equipment to the test ... right in front of the interested listeners , like u & me !!! *utmost_convinced_look* i suppose by now that this would be THE_ONLY_WAY to prove it ... finally !!! :-o
I have learned much from what they said, and admitted so.
that's indeed really good to know , because otherwise this whole matter wasn't worth all the hassle , which would've been a real shame in the end !!! *phew* :-o
What's your first language, out of curiosity?
well ... i really thought that u would know this already , mr. lapierre !? *somehow_puzzled_look* anyway ... what do u think does the .de endin' in my e-mail addy stands for , eh ??? *G+* ;-) however ... many greetinx again , oh jay ;-) ~*~ jvr network program - july 2002 : http://mitglied.lycos.de/cybernetx/program.html ( incl. live stream via internet ) studio webcam - live : http://stream.ok-bremen.de/studio.html radio show & playlist archive : http://friends.schallreflektor.com/ohjay/alien_disco for more info , send your request(s) to : oh_jay@kraftwerk.nu ;-) *~\^/~*
