It's 1:16am I should be in bed because I have to get up soon to get into work.. so I'll have to make this short. I'm not too good on reviews anyway. So.. I've not long got in after going to the Karl Bartos gig at the ICA in London. I'm not a great fan of his music... there's a couple a tracks I like but not really my cup of tea.... crumbs I really have had too much to drink! Anyway... his performace wasn't that long... about 50 minutes all together :o( The first 20-25 minutes were from his own material (I think from his new LP - but please forgive me if this is incorrect - I think so though).... I thought it was very impressive... enough to make me want to listen to the LP when it's released... and maybe even play some of his older stuff again to make sure I have the correct thoughts about him. He then played several Kraftwerk songs, and from what I could gather this is what everyone wanted to hear. They got the loudest reception anyway. My favorite track of the evening was most certainly "The Telephone Call" It ROCKED... that's with a capitol "R" for sure. As he left he said that he would soon be touring the UK properly. So if he comes by you I would recommend going.... especially if there's a bar near by *he he* For me it was a fun evening... initially I wasn't going to go.. but as it was just around the corner from where work and we weren't charged much for entrance I popped along. I'm glad I did. For the music, but also to meet other people. I met up with folks who I hadn't seen for a while. But my highlight was also exchanging contact details with new aquaintencies. It's so good being able to talk to people about Kraftwerk without them saying "Who?" I feel I'm rambling now... No... I know it... so I better sign off.. For me it's been a great night... a little short on music but the company I found later was sweet. Nite Nite and Keep Werking John www.keepwerking.co.uk
