(...) Well, they released "Expo 2000" after 'some years', however: I think they know exactly what they do - and what they don't want to do. Ralf & Florian are pretty clever - not only in things concerning business and money ;-).
If they have nothing more to say in the langue of music - they told so much in the past, we - of course - have to respect this. Hey, we're talking about Kraftwerk ;-). I really did belive there will be a new album in 1997, as three (five) new songs were played in Linz / Karlsruhe - songs I really did like - but now I don't belive any more in a new album. They canceled the two new songs from 1997, only "Tango" ("Airwaves"-extension) was left.
I mean, their playing 90% the same songs of the 1981 tour - and still all their concerts are sold out. People who go to a Kraftwerk-concert know what they will see - no new songs, but 'new designed' old songs - plus a new stage since 2002 - and still people go crazy. The 1997 Linze concert was the best concert I ever visited. It was simply magic. It's like a favourite film you have - you watch it again and again, know every scene, every sentence. That's what Kraftwerk makes so different, so timeless, so unique.
(And, of course, I hope they'll come to austria one day again ;-) )
All right! Georgie, I know what you mean ;-) and... I absolutely agree with you! :-) I have to say that I really understand why Kraftwerk usually prefer "keeping silence" rather than produce a common anodyne album every two years like other artists do... Talking about a "planned KW album" does not mean it will be released... - of course! However, I still believe this project actually exists, though, I'll not be surprised if nothing come from the record plant next... ;-) The "new album" is a low hypothesis: Kraftwerk will release an album if ( and ONLY if ) they completely feel secure... In other words: the next album will be a Masterpiece, or will be... not released. Anyway, new album or not, don't worry, I'll not be disappointed! Let's hope and dream... ;-)) ...maybe, perhaps, _ /o o\ Filtre4Pole ( naïve guy, isn't he? hum! ;-)) \ ~ / I I - -
