i don't want to sound like a complete internet idiot but how can you see whether your mail is in html or not?

Heh. Well, I don't object to the occasional non-English post. If Oh Jay
wants to speak Hax0r and look childish, that's fine with me.

I do definitely agree with him about the HTML posts though. HTML belongs
on the web ONLY, folks - NOT in email.

Some mailing lists are set up to automatically filter out HTML tags or
simply discard messages that contain non-plaintext. It would be nice if
that could be implemented here.
