Hello Adam, We agree with you, this song had many names till now, but let's call it only "Airwaves", to avoid confusions. Best regards, Marcelo Duarte Dante de Conti http://kraftwerk.technopop.com.br Brasil A> I was the person who saw the set list at the Tokyo 98 show that listed A> "Airwaves/Tango" and "Tribal" A> I spoke with a member of the Kraftwerk crew in Melbourne and he confirmed A> that it's just "Airwaves" now and "Tribal" (which was not performed on this A> tour). A> KW have not used the title "tech talk " to my knowledge, I believe it comes A> from a bootleg. Can I ask where the title "Tech Talk" originates?
On Kraftwerk's 98 dates, I remember someone on the mailing list having sight of the FOH soundman's setlist, and the 2 new pieces performed then were listed as "Tango" (i.e the track following the "Airwaves" intro), and "Tribal" (i.e the track debuted at Tribal Gathering in 97, and played as part of the final encore while wearing the wireframe suits).
These must be working titles only of course - I'm guessing "Tango" is a reference to the drum pattern - but has there been anything on the Australian tour to confirm /deny this "Tech Talk" title?
Also, was this "Airwaves/whatever" piece played before "Music Non Stop" A> (as part of the encore?), or before "Neon Lights" as listed in an earlier review? Or maybe they even changed it?
These small differences matter when you've been waiting 17 years for new material... sad isn't it?! :-)
Staggman
