John,  I too read that interview with Ralf in 1998. His answers seemed God-like and conveyed a sense that he was either fed up or just disinterested in music anymore. It must be a kind of creative nightmare though, all these people respecting you and the whole world embraces your influence, leaving Ralf and Florian in a creative vacum, wondering if what they do today is relevant and lives up to people's expectations. Im sure even if Bartos and Flur were still with them, then they would still have this musical impasse.

People expect too much from Kraftwerk.. all i want is a good tune..

As for Fritz well.. I can only speculate as to what each member does as I havent seen them in concert live.. only with bootleg videos, he seems more animated than the others when performing live. I dont think he operates the visuals and rythmn at the same time.. thats nigh on impossible.. From what I make out the Kraftwerk concert is almost automatic and computer controlled, with Ralf usually playing counterpoints/harmonies under the main melody. Fritz controls the tempo/control changes of the rythmn, and Henning maybe the one who takes to do with loading of samples allthough he plays the lead line of  'RadioActivity'. As for Florian.. he controls the robovox..
