In general, German females are pretty much the same as females in any other similar country. Their background, education, culture, influences are to a large extent the same.

well ... i've NEVER talked about that , simply because this is a place for kw fans ... no matter , if male or female or from which country they came , so my main interest is to find out WHY certain females on this list like kw !!! *smirk* :o} anyway ... i suppose that this question was already answered by now !? ;-)
If a woman is already a KW listener, she it outside the demographic we are talking about. So we are actually talking about "link between kw & their potential female listeners" :-)

well ... 1.) a female german kw fan has asked the question , if she's the only female ( german ) kw fan on this list & WE found out that this is NOT the case , so 2.) we discuss , WHY females on this list or on similar lists like kw & maybe also other electronic music !!! ;-)
The article in Keyboards is NOT a survey, it was an interview with a known musician who had observed that females in general are not interested in "technological" music.
may i ask u , who this "known musician" is , dear glenn ??? *pure_curiosity*
His observation is valid for the American female population
WHY do u think that & WHAT are your reasons to "assume" or even "conclude" that ??? *indeed_VERY_CURIOUS_by_now*
... and therefore supports the general notion that females in Western countries are generally less interested in synth music than males.
sorry , but i must admit that i'm indeed VERY_SCEPTICAL about this "assumption" or even "conclusion" , until i see MORE_THAN_JUS'_ONE study about it , who comes to this result !!! btw : so far , i haven't even seen ONE_!!! :-/

when you analyze why they dont like this music, you will find several factors of which one is "lack of lyrics" or "lack of (good) melody". It can be argued that many (not all) females do not "understand" a melody played by synths, it should be sung by a person for them to appreciate it as a good melody.
hm ... as kw ( unlike the "usual" techno track !!! ;-) have BOTH , "good lyrics" & "good melodies" , i really DON'T see , why ANY female would think that their music lacks "good lyrics" or "good melodies" , if they are VERY_CLEARLY_AUDIBLE_!!! *puzzled_look* sorry , but i really DON'T understand where u want to go with the above example , dear glenn !!! :-o

The human brain works pretty much the same all over the world. When it comes to who likes what kind of music, many factors are important but since Germany and USA are pretty much the same in a sociological sense (wether you like it or not, that is fact) an American study of this matter would be highly valid for Germans.
sorry , dear glenn , but if u would jus' take a closer look to the diff'rent music charts ( "top 40" ;-) of each country , u would actually see the diff'rence ... & don't even need a study to prove , what i still think is VERY_QUESTIONABLE to "assume" or even "conclude" !!! :-o however ... many greetinx , oh jay ;-) *~\^/~*
