Hello fellow Kraftwerk admirers, I would like to weigh in. Recently, here in Detroit, we had our annual Electronic Music Festival. I always tell people that you cannot mention electronic music without mentioning Kraftwerk. That's like talking Funk without mentioning George Clinton. Does anybody know how to contact Kraftwerk? I would like to see if we can book them for next year's festival. That would be too awesome! There are many Kraftwerk fans in Detroit, thanks to the Electricfying Mojo ( A popular Detroit DJ in the '70's and '80's). He played "Numbers" every single night and he also hipped us to many other Kraftwerk songs. As far as the origin of hip-hop, you have to go back to the '60's to a NY group called "The Original Poets" Peace to everyone, Brian -----Original Message----- From: kraftwerk-admin@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:kraftwerk-admin@mailman.xmission.com]On Behalf Of Nat Heidler Sent: Tuesday, May 28, 2002 12:13 PM To: 'kraftwerk@mailman.xmission.com' Subject: [Kraftwerk] Hip Hop Origins I recently had the pleasure of seeing the movie "Scratch" http://www.scratchmovie.com/ The films covers the history of Hip-Hop from the early 70s to just a few years ago. Kept waiting to see someone cite Kraftwerk as an influence, but no show. I highly reccomend this movie if it's showing your town.
