I'm convinced that there's no way the Australian edition CD reissues will have been properly remastered, or even properly repackaged come to that. Bet you it's just the regular CDs in card slipcases, with the same hastily-assembled booklet in each one. I'd love to be proved wrong, of course... There's no way Ralf would let someone else just go ahead and modify the audio content - he'd want to oversee it, which is hopefully what he's talking about in that radio interview. Kraftwerk's record company arrangement in most territories is a licencing deal, which means that they themselves (KlingKlang) own their recordings, and have control over how they are mastered. Look at the few non-approved releases that have slipped through the net: those US Cleopatra/CEMA reissues (terrible sound, ballsed-up artwork, endlessly recycling permutations of the same 3 albums); the Japanese "Computerworld", which was effectively a clone of the UK release with one extra track, "Dentaku" after Ralf put the mockers on "Tour de France" being included, and... er... that's it! Most of the CDs available at present suffer from being low-level, undynamic, contain several little errors, and have pretty poor interpretations of the original artwork. They all date from the early days of CD mastering, and suffer badly for it when compared sonically with contemporary releases. I'm not criticising the musical content, of course, just the technical aspects. Anyone else feel the same? Eternally in hope of a proper Kraftwerk remaster/repackage/reissue program.... Staggman

Was he referring to the release of re-mastered versions world-wide or something more local, i.e. those already mentioned for re-issue in Australia, I wonder...
There was no more info about the subject, but since he said "probably" and "later this year", while the Australian reissues should be already out (BTW: Are they? Any eye-witnesses yet?) he must have been referring to something different?
