In 1982 PolyGram label proposed the candidature of the second single by the band Azul y Negro, "Me estoy volviendo loco", to the public open competition of TVE (Spanish state television) for the theme tune of the Vuelta ciclista a España (The Spanish cycling race equivalent to Tour de France) summaries. Since then everybody unwittingly identifies the "Vuelta ciclista" with the Azul y Negro sound. The following year Kraftwerk were commissioned by the organizers to record a theme tune for the Tour de France. Some Spanish magazines said that the German band had copied the idea of Azul y Negro. At least it is possible Kraftwerk did listen to the song and, in a way or another, it inspired them to make Tour de France; for example, breathings sounds are pretty similar in both tracks. Anyway, who knows?... In 1983 Azul y Negro's "No tengo tiempo (Con los dedos de una mano)" was chosen again. Both singles were produced by musician and musical radio commentator Julian Ruiz, a long-time Kraftwerk admirer.
Azul y Negro's official website http://www.azulynegro.com states that PolyGram (Azul y Negro's label) sent a video on 'La Vuelta Ciclista a España', with this tune ("Me estoy volviendo loco") as soundtrack, to Kraftwerk and they got fascinated by the song.
