I can't imagine Neon Lights being tampered with, though I've played the vinyl at 45 rpm (just once) and it's literally quite groovy. Amir Enrique Correa wrote:
The Mix was a remix album, not an album of new songs. Ralf was commissioned with putting together a best of, and he decided to do so, but with an up to date feeling, and I give him credit for that, but in all honesty, to me The Mix sounds like a tour rehearsal. They just had new toys to practice with. Electric Cafe was truly their last album of new songs before TdF Soundtracks. I've read in this list that someone wanted Neon Lights out of an hypothetical The Mix II. I agree, but not because I dislike the song, much to the contrary, I love Neon Lights, it's just that such a masterpiece should be left alone, and not recreated at all. E
PS: Jean Michel Jarre is about to release a sort of The Mix of his own, that is not an album of new songs, but remixed, recreated songs. His newest album, of newest songs is called Geometry of Love. Very sensual cover, BTW.
