after kw finished their sessions for the "electric cafe" album in n. y. c. , they headed back to their safe kling klang studio in d-dorf to start upgradin' / updatin' it with the newest & best digital equipment the market @ that time has to offer ... & spend WAY_TOO_MANY_TIME on doin' jus' this , than to actually werk on some really new material ... & not jus' on their new digital versions of their ol' traxxx to release "the mix" album in 1991 !!! :-/
The reason for this may also be that..They were able to! Face it, once artists become famous and rich, they no longer have to produce, and it's very easy to get caught in the "playing around"-process, just like ol' Ralfie and Flori have...
that's also one of the main reasons , why wolfgang ( who's contribution simply wasn't necessary anymore ... as the percussion player that he jus' was ... in ralf & florian's minds !!! :-/ ) & karl ( who's a creative person with his very own ideas ... but with not so much patience & inclination to upgrade / update the kling klang studio with digital equipment , than to werk on new songs instead !!! ;-) & also emil ( who was completely "unimportant" in the upgrade / update process !!! :-o ) become practically "unemployed" members of kw @ that time !!! :-/
Yep, I totally agree on that.
what kw really needed durin' this process were some skilled sound engineers like fritz & henning ... & that's also the main reason , why those two became kw's new "employees" in the end ... & wolfi , karl & emil became "useless" for ralf & florian !!! *sigh* :-o
I think what KW really needs is to throw out all equipment, become poor again, be forced to fight for a record contract, i.e. be pushed into making new records again. Unless something like that happens we'll never hear from them again. When old people get stuck, they tend to get STUCK.
anyway ... i still suppose that kw use A_LOT of older or even newer analog equipment ... like the doepfer instruments - only for example !!! *sly_grin* ;-)
I don't think so, actually. I'm pretty certain it's all computers these days. Cheers, Peo
