Agreed! I've only played the Mix 4 times since I excitedly bought it eons ago. I have tons of disco from the '70's that would put it to shame. The previous KW albums sound even better with age! I started loving KW ever since TEE was played for 20 minutes at all the discos. And the "skinny tie" fashion look was just beginning to return to the black neighborhoods in 1977 and 78... like the TEE album cover :-) KW was COOL! amir Erik Jälevik wrote:

i think the mix is the difference between the "old" kw fans and the "new" fans. over the years i noticed on this list that everybody who was a fan in the 70's and 80's doesn't like the mix that much. but it can not be ignored that a lot of younger fans discovered kw via the mix (i for one am one of them). so for the "new" fans the mix will always be one of the best (maybe the best) kw albums.
Well, I've been a fan of Kraftwerk for a long time, but nowhere near as long as some of the people on here. I was born in the year when Radio-Activity came out which means I was 16 when The Mix came out. I had heard some Kraftwerk stuff before that but I think The Mix was the first Kraftwerk album I bought. And although I loved it at the time and it could be said to have heightened my interest for the band, the big point for me is that it just doesn't have the longevity of the earlier stuff. And today, for me, it would be a contender for the worst Kraftwerk album. It just feels quite unnecessary. Still wondering why they released it, could it maybe have been that they needed some money to buy new bikes?
