Oh Jay, I respect your opinion and concede that a wise sage-like figure might opt for a 'only-see-bands-down-the-road" point of view. But Kraftwerk have not, as yet, scheduled concerts for the UK (where I live) or for Warsaw (where the guy 500 Euros down is from). And you know as well as I do that this is not a band you can rely on to eventually appear in your neck of the woods. I could have grey hairs up my nostrils by that time. It's not about the money for me. I am not booking a hotel, just flying straight to Paris and back (£79 British Airways) - spending the night with a mate. No big deal. It is currently a bit passe to piss the public around at concerts. The new trend is to turn up when you say your going to turn up and give everyone a good 'fix'. Take Orbital. In July I saw them play in the centre of London at a beautiful location (open-air gig) in a 19th Century courtyard. They have understood that people are becoming more demanding regarding the 'conditions' under which they see a band. That is, excellent toilets, quick beer tents (and many of them) and low-key but powerful security. In the back of your mind you might be thinking, "yes, but you are still going to move heaven and earth to see KW, so they must be worth ANY amount of hassle". To a point yes. But I'm 33 and I'm weary of bullshiat. I'll still take a chance on the concert because if I wait for evryone to come and visit me in London I will never see and do all the things I want to in this world. As for living around Bremen. Well, I hear there is an Hungarian Gypsy Folk music ensemble playing in your local town hall next week. Perhaps you can go and check them out while I'm standing at the doors of Cite de la Musique with two options a) the concerts cancelled and I can go and have a night out in Paris with friends or b) I see the best electronic dance music ensemble ever. Tough choice. Glad to hear you were at TB, great show. Anthony
