Hello all! I've just received an acetate that you may be able to help me a bit with... I bought a South African acetate containing a mono version of TANZMUSIK. This acetate was included in a big lot of acetates coming from the GALLO record company in South Africa, as bought by an American record dealer from a sound engineer who worked there throughout the 70s. I was a bit puzzled about the contents.. Why "Tanzmusik", I thought? Well, now when I've received the disc I'm beginning to understand a little - I think. Upon examining the disc, I found an engraving on the back side of the acetate, saying: "REJECT" and "MONO MIX". I know from the source that this disc was manufactured sometime in 1973. Put these two facts together, and one could begin to speculate about the disc's contents... ...could it be that Kraftwerk were intending to release "Tanzmusik" as their first single, but later scrapped the plan? Thinking about it, it actually makes sense. A lot more sense than Kohoutek at least! What do you think about this? Are there any facts hidden somewhere suggesting that this is a plausible idea? I'd love to hear your views on this! Cheers, Peo
