Helsinki recording - first 35 minutes

The first 35 minutes of the Helsinki show is now available in SoulSeek. Go to the Kraftwerk room and you'll find it; search for "[2004-02-06] Helsinki". I'll upload it to some FTP server soon. But - there's a recording glitch; Die Mench Machine is occuring twich, the second time covering TdF03. Hi! Just a little side note, now that we're all so busy with the Helsinki concert; I've got another small thing to discuss. I'm listening to a concert from London 1976. There's two funny things about this concert, one I knew and one I just found out. The first thing is that Europe Endless and Trans-Europe Express are played live - the year before the album was released. It's clearly sketches, it's the same songs as on the album, but the lyrics in Europe Endless is sund totally different, with another melody, same with the arrangemens. The second thing is in the vocoded introduction. It's the one used at many concerts, you know "...aus Deutschland - die Mensch Machine - Kraftwerk". But this was 1976, two years before die Mensch Machine was released. Obviuosly they had some part of the concept laid out already by the time of Radioaktivität! Does anybody know when the first reference to the Man Machine was made? /Joakim PS. I'm still downloading the Helsinki concert. Be patient... Helsinki recording

Looking at the Technopop site,you can see total running time and other timings : it means that someone has recorded the show,at least an audio recording exists. I can swap the video recording with the Paris 2002 DVD or something else. Wow, so many questions. Let's see if I can answer some. what was the total running time? 2 hours 10 minutes Black suits with red shirts? yes Expo 2000... the hybrid remix version like the recent Paris/Japan/Aussie shows? a hybrid remix, don't know if it was the same one Tour De France 03... which Etape?... a mix of all? very long version, a mix Radioactivity... the "slow" intro section, again like Paris etc? yes, slow intro The Robots... where were the robots standing?... behind the consoles?... were they wearing anything?! :-) the robots stood behind the consoles, no clothes Aero Dynamik... modified like the new single? haven't heard the promo, so I can't say...sounded like the version they did at the MTV Europe awards Roger Renman Helsinki, Finland

Hi! I don't receive any message from the KW "Activerecord" mailing list and I think I should receive tens of messages now that the first show is done. I can't even go to the Activerecord "listinfo" page to check the archives to see if I'm missing something. Is the "Activerecord" server down"? Anybody on the "xmission" KW list has any info on that? From Astralwerks newsletter 6th Feb 2004: KRAFTWERK Tour de France Soundtracks http://www.astralwerks.com/kraftwerk/ News of Kraftwerk's forthcoming world tour has been spreading fast among their fans, as the band gears up for 3 shows on the West Coast. Kraftwerk will be one of the star attractions at this year's Coachella Festival in California on May 1st, but the band has also confirmed April 26th in Seattle at the Paramount Theater and April 28th at the Warfield Theater in San Francisco. This week we can also confirm news of the new Kraftwerk single "Aerodynamik" which is slated for U.S. release on March 23rd. As one of the anchor tracks on the universally acclaimed new Kraftwerk album "Tour De France Soundtracks", "Aerodynamik" is the prime candidate for a dancefloor re-rub with its propulsive bass line and classic Kraftwerk vocal treatments. The first re-incarnation of the track was tested to great effect when Kraftwerk performed at the MTV Europe awards in November in front of a global audience of millions. In keeping with the French theme of the Tour De France concept, Parisian dance luminaries Alex Gopher, Etienne de Crecy and Francois K (who remixed the original Tour De France single in 1983) were commissioned to remix two brand new versions with a house edge, while Kraftwerk have rewired the song themselves to great effect. The Gopher/de Crecy mix transforms the track into an acid-flavored tech house jam, while Francois K's version adds some superb, butt-shaking, deep house flavor to the original composition. Fabulous! Seems they're doing pretty much their entire standard set, with some of the new album stuff added... have some of the tracks been trimmed down in length a bit to accomodate that? How long was the show? Black suits with red shirts? Jackets? Anyone took photos? Expo 2000... the hybrid remix version like the recent Paris/Japan/Aussie shows?
