KW-JMJ connection

There where some reports to the list about Jarre attending one of the Paris shows, does anybody know if JMJ ever in interviews has mentioned KW as a source of inspiration - or mentioned them at all? I mean - they've probably been inspired by each other in one way or another, but KW would never mention anything like this in an interview, thats why I wonder if JMJ ever has... Regards / Johan

Question for the collectors

As some of you will know, a v.limited box set of 4 12"s was released in 97 (I think) which included T.E.E, Numbers, Home Computer and another track (not sure, could be "It's more fun to compute" . This collection is currently sitting in a 2nd hand shop for the price of £200, or £50 for each twelve. As I'm a DJ, I am considering buying "Numbers" because I reckon it might be the updated version with the new intro. Only problem is that the shop steadfastly refuse to let me listen to it before shelling out £50... Does anyone have it? or am I deluding myself? :) Cheers Toby

KLANG box

A point about the individual 12" from the Klang box: They have been counterfeited at least once. I've seen copies with muddy printing on the label and no picture cover. And as been said before, most have nothing whatsoever to recommend them, with one early fade and an edited version. Bah, humbug. Music and Video exchange in Notting Hill gate has had stacks of both the box and the separate discs since it appeared, prices there tend to fluctuate so no idea if or at what cost they have them Also, if you must know, the Tshirt was the same as sold at the 97/98 gigs. A few copies -- rumour (actually begun by the rare records dealer at M&VE, who obtained copies prior to Tribal Gathering) says only 10 -- had neatly folded black XL size Roboter T-shirts included; some also have a press release memo inside. I've seen one advertised "with bag", whatever that means... I often see the individual 12" disks in their white with black/red ink sleeves for sale. My opinion is that the minimum possible vinyl pressing quantity was still rather higher than the minimum available for the box packaging, therefore the overspill disks were also distributed the EMI marketeers as separates -- hence each having an individual catalogue number, including the box itself! The tracks are all taken from the original recordings, i.e. they are not remixes or digital re-recordings. £350 (or whatever) is a lot to pay for such an item -- that's like £85 per disk plus £10 for the box :-) -- but then again it is a truly rare package and the unlaminated box marks so damned easily that one in mint condition will only get rarer. * This email may contain confidential material. A few years back, I think on this list, someone mentioned a set of albums called Kraftwerk - Remake Red, Remake Pink and Remake Blue. Does anyone know about these? Are they bootlegs, compilations, remix albums or something else entirely? Are they available on CD? What label? -- /* Soleil */
