Hi everyone, Since it's Burns Night, here's a simple question: did Bill Drummond have to pay anyone any copyright to use the Robert Burns poem "Such a Parcel of Rogues in a Nation", as read by his Dad at the end of "The Man" solo album in 1986? I seem to remember that something happens to copyright after the author has been dead 100 years, but I could be wrong. Does anyone know? John PS - On the same subject, what about the KLF's cover of "Born Free"? Would they have had to pay the writers fees even when the "White Room" soundtrack failed to see the light of day? I know they were the kopyright liberation front - but these things can get confusing! -- Whatever you Wanadoo: http://www.wanadoo.co.uk/time/ This email has been checked for most known viruses - find out more at: http://www.wanadoo.co.uk/help/id/7098.htm
