Hello everyone, this is my first post to this list. I've been reading posts from the archives sporadically over the past few years, but I haven't been a subscriber until just recently. The archives for this mailing list are available on the world wide web, and I've downloaded, reformatted and merged them all into a single mailbox file for convenience. It's rather cumbersome to read old messages from the old text files, even though it's often worth the effort. Having all the messages in one folder in your reader can be nice sometimes. It's a standard mbox type mailbox, usable by most UNIX mail readers, and several Windows readers, including Eudora and Netscape Mail. The mailbox file is 31,074,299 bytes in size, and a bzip2 compressed version, 5,985,552 bytes in size, is available here: http://tomten.kol14.com/stuff/klf.mbox.bz2 The archive stretches from November 1992 to May 2002, which is almost ten years. I don't know how many people have been subscribers since the start. I quote from the introduction message from November 6, 1992: Welcome to Trancentral, the KLF/Orb Mailing list. Trancentral is for the discussion of music performed or produced by Bill Drummond, Jimmy Cauty, Alex Paterson, and Kris ("Thrash") Weston. This includes the KLF (formerly the JAMS and The Timelords) and the Orb, as well as directly-related projects such as System 7 (also known as 777) Fortran 5, Brilliant, Disco 2000, Space, and any of the dozens of other hands that have been remixed by Drummond, Paterson, and company. More than 1600 people have posted to the list over the years, and there have been nearly 25,000 posts. There is some really interesting stuff in the archive, like a hilarious report from 1993 from a Wanda Dee and the KLF show, several reports from the Barbican gig, and a lot more. Also, any conceivable question about the KLF which isn't covered by the excellent FAQ is likely to have been discussed at length at some point. For this, the 31 megabyte archive is useful as a plain text encyclopedia. I hope this is of any use to anyone.

For y'all's amusement/edification, I've threaded the mails, and put them up at http://www.babymeat.com/klfarchive/; if you want a ordered by date listing, http://www.babymeat.com/klfarchive/maillist.html N.b.: the index pages are about 4M! And as long as I'm delurking... I used to be on the KLF list in the Bad Old Days of the net (when the list was still hosted in the UK and the JANET address translation crap broke on a regular basis) but hadn't resubscribed until recently. So, er, hi.
