1. Does anyone know when this Black Smoke albums coming out? 2. Is there anywhere I can download all of Bill & Jimmy's live gigs in MPEG video format (particuarly the Paradiso gig). 3. Is Bill up to anything at the moment because I wrote a letter to him using The K Foundation address and hav'nt heard anything yet? 4. Is there a Bill & Jimmy MP3 archive on the internet anywhere? 5. Where can I download a Mp3 of The Magnificent from? On the Channel 4 Music teletext page here in the UK, on the Feedback page (Page 162) a few people have been writing in to say that the music industry needs The KLF. Think about it, we need something that complex in music, this Pop Idol shit needs to be stopped and Bill & Jimmy are better than anybody.

i dont know of many "real (not faked) live gigs" on film Stuff i've seen digitised.. *barbican/2k one, *Brits92, *TOTP stuff, but thats notlive isnt it? Stuff I havent seen but have heard exists.. * the DMC gig where 1200's went into the crowd (dont think it's been digitised yet but i could be wrong)
3. Is Bill up to anything at the moment because I wrote a letter to him using The K Foundation address and hav'nt heard anything yet?
personally i wouldnt have expected a reply but thats just me perhaps
4. Is there a Bill & Jimmy MP3 archive on the internet anywhere?
online * there is rmstringers ftp. you can ask him for access offlist. * there used to be some at mancentral - not sure if that still exists. * there are a few (not many)at the site that recently hosted the Brits92 mpg offline * there is my collection, but you need to visit me personally in melbourne to get that easily. * i'm sure there are others equal if not better than mine
5. Where can I download a Mp3 of The Magnificent from?
if no one else can supply it, i can. email me if there's no other options.

I havent seen the PopIdol shit yet (takes longer for stuff to reach .au) but perhaps the makers of it need to read the manual? maybe someone can send them a copy :-) cheers brendan

Go to brandnew.co.uk and download the KLF video bits, one of them has the camera filming Jimmy's copy of the DMC thing and you see the turntable going into the crowd, not that trying to liberate the turntable was very special! Jon Doe

Good luck. I wouldn't hold your breathe though.

Pitman is the only pop idol we need. And he's made a song. And it's shit. -- "There are only two industries that refer to their customers as 'users'." - Edward Tufte

KLF, Orb, Leftfield, The Chemical, Exit Planet Dust, Orbital also I would agree with. I have 18 of them I have to say I disagree with a lot of their choices, they seem to be picking my least favorite album by a lot of bands - I'd swap Trans Europe Express for "Computer World" or the underrated masterpiece "Electric Cafe", I prefer the later abrasive Aphex twin stuff to the early noodling, I prefer, Chill Out to Ultraworld, Orbital seemd to follow trends rather then innovate, Substance is a greatest hits package so maybe it shouldn't be included, I think 76:14 and Bytes are overrated, and Violator outshines music for the Masses, and so on. I'd throw in Propaganda's "A Secret Wish" and something by the Pet Shop Boys too. ...oh, and "the white room" is my least favourite KLF album! - Andy_R

I own these: Orb- adventures Beyond the ultraworld Massive Attack - Blue Lines Chemical Brothers - Exit Planet Dust+ Dig Your Own Hole Orbital - 2 Depeche Mode - Music For the Masses KLF- The White Room I think KLF,Chemical Bros,Orb and Orbital are placed too low on that list.Same goes for Depeche Mode...Never really liked Kraftwerk :o) best regards Christian
I got Trans Europe Express on original release vinyl and it's in mint condition (played once!). Wonder how much it's worth? Oh - I have 22 of the 25 listed. andrew

0wnage: Kraftwek - TransEurope Express Massive Attack - Blue Lines Aphex Twin - Selected Ambient Works vol 1. The Orb - Adventures Beyond the Ultraworld Portishead - Dummy Byian Eno - Music for Airports DJ Shadow - Entroducing Orbital - 2 Underworld - Dubnobasswithmyheadman 808 State - UtdState90 DM - Music for the Masses Tricky - Maxinquaye Boards - Music has the right to children Moby - everything is wrong (saddly i own it) and 8 versions of the White Room. For the most part i agree with it. Pretty good list (except for Daft Punk, they lose all credibility since releasing "Discovery") -- Loki Ambrodious von Esling -|- Necco and the Loup - http://www.relst8.net |
good selection, but misses much, particularly in trance! nothing in german techno/trance (no oliver lieb?) and no goa. but then, they released mostly singles/compilations, and even then didn't sell too many records (relatively speaking), did they... dasa ----- Original Message ----- From: "Kingboy DSP" <kingboy@seznam.cz> To: <klf@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Monday, March 03, 2003 11:12 AM Subject: [KLF] [OT] The 25 greatest electronic albums of the 20th century
