Hi several years of enduring hundreds of spam e-mails a day, I've finally decided to start using another e-mail address. This one will stay open for a few months, but it may lapse by the end of the year. I've decided not to rejoin the Mailing List with my other e-mail, purely because of all the spam its appearance would generate. Does anyone know of a way of stopping your e-mail appearing on these phishing/ripping sites of the posts here, which means the address is suddenly visible online? If there was a way of avoiding that, I'd probably rejoin with the new e-mail. Anyway, people who want to contact me can still do so via my blog: http://inverarities.blog.co.uk/ This may sound drastic, but its really not. If someone can suggest a way that I can keep my e-mail "hidden" from spammers, I'd rejoin and appreciated it. John
Gmail is a great way to do that. I am going to switch all of my email to it when I move in 3 weeks to St Louis. Rob's right John .. if your new address is with Gmail you can give your address as yourname+anything@gmail.com and emails will arrive at yourname@gmail.com [the + is mandatory there btw] it's very useful when signing up to forums etc where you dont want to give your real address for spam reasons. down side is some places don't let you sign up with an email address with a + in it .. but most do. chief 2008/6/20 RMStringer <RMStringer1971@comcast.net>:

I use gmail and I get only about 1 piece of spam to my outlook spam folder. I use my Comcast email for this list and I get none and I have used them for over 2.5 years. No spam, you got signed up on some lists. The easiest thing to do is set up a free online hotmail account, (if you use pop3, DO NOT tie the hotmail account into it just use it online), use that to sign up to this mailing list and use your new one for everything else. Then once a fortnight sign-in to your KLF hotmail account. EL. Or just set up filters and folders for each list and sender you want mail from, deleting the spam in the inbox is way easier then setting up special spam filters. EL. J schrieb:
