Hi Me again... may someone can remind me the access to the server ? As I said in my previous mail I can't get through. Maybe Am I doing something wrong ? Sorry for bothering you with that and thank you in advance for your help Olivier
Firewall settings if you're like me. I've not got round to testing it out, but it's not as simple as clearing port 21, there are other things buried away in your firewall's settings. Go through every single thing it's manual. help file, etc, says about ftp and it'll become slightly less murky... ----- Original Message ----- From: KLF To: klf@mailman.xmission.com Sent: Thursday, April 01, 2004 12:58 AM Subject: [KLF] Ftp server Hi Me again... may someone can remind me the access to the server ? Hi I know that Rob is running his FTP on a (spit) windows machine and his FTP software is Serv-U. Check that passive (or on some software, PASV) mode is OFF. Also, Rob limits the amount of people logging in VIA FTP so that if you get a 'too many connections' error, then the reason why u can't get in is because of that. PLEASE keep in mind that the FTP service that RMStringer provides is completely voluntary and that you do not and cannot expect his service to allow you access willy-nilly. It's up to him whom gets access to his Hard drive. That being said, I for one want to thank him for the resource he provides, especially now that Mancentral is long gone. "Andrew ( after having his first night at a lap-dancer club - and is £200 down :>)" You plonker... £200, Christ. Why did you go? Did you feel you had to know what it was like? Not great, I imagine. I interviewed a strip club owner once, it was a horrible place. Not erotic. Does anyone know a word for the reverse of eroticism? You know, off-putting? I don't mean thanatic.
