US black male rappers always say that they are best, that other rappers/labels are shit (2Pac/Biggie) and this goes as far as death threats, nobody claimed them being racist. Ice T NWA and Public Enemy often made racist comments on Jews and Chinese and critics say "it's the poetry of the streets, it's self-expression". So the JAMS are most definitely NOT racist because of this tiny line.
I took those lyrics to mean just about the opposite of racism: what drummond is actually doing is railing against the restrictive nature of the concept of "genre" and image - "in other words", why does pop music require a rapper to be a black, chain-wearing sterotype? a rapper need not even be "authentic", as long as the caricature is
