Unfortunately, the last time I went to Paris was back in 1976, when I was 5 years old, otherwise I would have replied!
Never been, myself. I don't think there's any French folk on the list these days. Well, if there are they're lurking. I can only recall seeing one and he left eons ago. -paul Currently in rotation: VA - The Abduction of the Art of Noise (commercial version); David Byrne - Grown Backwards; George Michael - Patience; Too Much Joy - various (mp3)
Well paris is not the best town in the world to find records, there is no berwick street! anyway you can try to go in "la bastille" all the record shop are there, try to find techno import (check their website), there are other ones not far away from there Another record shop is gilbert joseph, i found a bootleg copy of chillout last time, its near "le boulevard de la madeleine" i think If u wanna go clubbing, "le rex" is very good with big djs every night, " le batofar" is ok too, they play US deep house and if u like bitchy gay house, u have to go to "le queen" on the champs elysée, try to go there at 6 in the morning, its tottaly insane but quite funny seb (french folk) but not parisian... I'll try to help you. KLF is not very known in France, except by DJs and "techno" fans. So it's hard to find KLF records. But if you find them, it would be the French versions (on Dance Pool / Columbia / Sony Music). Here is some addresses: - "FNAC" or "Virgin Megastore" on Champs Elysées avenue - "12 Inch" 18 rue Turbigo 75002 Paris (vinyls only) - "Jussieu Music" 19 rue Linné 75005 Paris (second hand shop, CD only) - "O'C.D." 26 rue des Ecoles 75005 Paris (second hand shop, CD only) - "Techno-Import Distribution" 16 rue des Taillandiers 75011 Paris - "Club News International" 37 rue St Honoré 75001 Paris (a reference for DJs!) - "Crocodisc" 40 rue des Ecoles 75005 Paris - "Discoparnasse" 66 boulevard Montparnasse 75015 Paris (another reference for DJs!) - "DMC France Limited" 2 boulevard Richard Lenoir 75011 Paris - "Gibert Joseph Musique" 26 boulevard St Michel 75006 Paris - "Lucky Records" 66 rue de la Verrerie 75004 Paris (for collector essentially) -"Boulinier" 20 boulevard St Michel 75006 Paris (second hand shop) And for clubs, if you can go out of Paris, I like "Métropolis" rue Pondorly 94150 RUNGIS (30min from Paris I think, south suburbs).
