does it say something about me that "disaster fund collection" is probably my favorite klf track
I'm not sure what it says about you, but in my opinion it is one of their finest moments, so dramatic! (whether tounge-in-cheek or not makes no difference to the finished product, also in my opinion) I never actually heard the track until I was able to find a copy of "who killed the jams" on a trip to the UK (london, reckless records, their soho vinyl shop I think, also got the one-sided "all you need is love" there that day) when I got back to the states one of the first things I did was "put the needle on the record" - and was I blown away! (no cobain statements here please) I just couldn't get over what a powerful song "disaster fund collection" was (I was also surprised to find out the "the porpoise song" had WORDS, as until that time I only had access to "the history of the jams") "who killed the jams" is a really great album, too often overlooked by the modern music press (as are other KLF albums) when compiling their "all-time-best-of" and "influential" lists (and that last part ISN'T just my opinion, it's fact)
finally, the voice of reason! glad someone else out there sees the tracks greatness... lysergic ----- Original Message ----- From: <our.webstuff@verizon.net> To: <klf@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Tuesday, July 15, 2003 6:07 AM Subject: [KLF] Re: "disaster fund collection"

it says you don't know the difference between the KLF and the JAMs! :P -- Loki Ambrodious von Esling -|- RELST8 - http://www.relst8.net |
as i recall, they are forever more known as the JAMS so wouldn't the converse be true? however, looking at the tracklist below, i think i'm not the only one who blurs the line between JAMS and KLF given that Burn the Bastards was released as a KLF single...
