Kylie Said Trance...the missing link?
I was thinking that as the b-side label of the Kylie 12" says "Pure Trance" perhaps "Kylie Said Trance" is simply one of the missing pure trance singles retitled for release on the flip of the "Kylie Said to Jason" single. Thoughts? Dan

Good question, I'm not fortunate enough to own either KLF 10R or 10RR (although I would be interested in buying them if anyone has them for sale). Can anyone who owns these chime in? On Fri, Mar 4, 2011 at 10:29 AM, Ulrik Brandt <onkelgerhardt@hotmail.com>wrote:

Some of the more structured beat/synth sections of Chill Out seem to me to contain the elements of larger musical projects from around the Pure Trance era too. The single mix of J&A features the trilling intro from KSTJ - it's just before the "hey hey! All bound for Mu Mu land" bits. You'll recognise it next time you listen! As far as Kylie Said Trance being an abandoned Pure Trance single ... Hmm ... Not sure. Elements are similar to the D2000 bside "Mr Hotty Loves You" (from six months before, written by Jimmy & Cressida) and also the roughly contemporaneous "Mommy Don't" (the proto 3am by Jimmy & LXD that finally saw the light of day in 2005 on Orbsessions 1). I think it was just one of the (many) sounds and styles the Trancentral mob were trying out in 1989. After all, KLF010CD is like a lucky dip of styles - pop, trance and ambient across three songs. "Madrugada Eterna" on the CD is obviously a work in progress for "Chill Out" - as is "3am (Blue Danube)" on KLF5R, in fact. I used to have KLF010R, and it does say the correct matrix on the run out. But KLF010RR? There was a discussion on this back in 2003/4, when the German import edition appeared on eBay (didn't it play backwards at 33 1/3 or something?), but I'm sure only one person came forward at the time and said they owned the UK KLF Comms edition. Was it Andy Lee? I seem to remember they said they bought it shrink-wrapped in Oxford Street, whoever they were ... Anyway, maybe they know the matrix? "Kylie in a Trance² is pretty ambient if I remember correctly as well I started thinking about it at work but couldn¹t remember, so I fired up klf.de <http://klf.de> ¹s stream and am waiting for it to come around. :) Relatedly, I¹m happy I did I never heard a lot of the ODC and Cyborcorsis remixes, and the one that came up already was flippin' excellent (ODC¹s J&A). Dan I was thinking that as the b-side label of the Kylie 12" says "Pure Trance" perhaps "Kylie Said Trance" is simply one of the missing pure trance singles retitled forreleaseon the flip of the "Kylie Said to Jason" single. Thoughts? I'm sure only one person came forward at the time and said they owned the UK KLF Comms edition. Was it Andy Lee? I seem to remember they said they bought it shrink-wrapped in Oxford Street, whoever they were ...
John, It was me who said this a few years back, but I was talking shite, it was just the regular KLF010R after all. Apologies for the konfusion, Tony On Fri, Mar 4, 2011 at 4:34 PM, John Milne <paranormalhandy@gmail.com> wrote:
Some of the more structured beat/synth sections of Chill Out seem to me to contain the elements of larger musical projects – from around the Pure Trance era too.

What does the label on the remixes say (klf010R,kl01RR)

I don't have KLF 10RR (not many people do!), but it's not listed on KLF 10R: http://www.discogs.com/KLF-Kylie-Said-To-Jason-The-Remixes/release/90239 I bought this one for about 4 quid (it's relatively easy to find)... As for 10RR, I believe I've only seen it for sale a handful of times... On 4 March 2011 16:00, Dan Hutchins <danthutchins@gmail.com> wrote:
Good question, I'm not fortunate enough to own either KLF 10R or 10RR (although I would be interested in buying them if anyone has them for sale). Can anyone who owns these chime in?
