Adam, I've been thinking about your question all morning and here are my thoughts: A track which was recorded but left off The White Room called "The Sheriff of Mu Mu County" definitely exists and a clip of it was featured on a website called brandnew.co.uk about 12 years ago so somebody has this track. As far as I know it was never slated for release so it probably exists as a tape but I've no idea who would have it. Also about 12 years ago a fairly reliable source who used to be on the list reported once seeing a pressed copy of "E-Train to Trancentral" but none have reported hearing the actual record. Mike Stent has stated that one track from the Black Room sessions was completely finished and mixed called "The Black Room and Terminator 10" although he didn't state whether or not he had a tape of it. All sources indicate that Pure Trance 4: Turn Up The Strobe was never completed and to my knowledge no one has ever heard it or seen a pressed copy. As you've pointed-out, the genesis of this track probably morphed into the first version of "It's Grim Up North." Having said all that, it is well known that there are a handful of anonymous KLF uber-collectors who may have previously unseen/unheard things either through their association with The KLF organization back in the day or from purchasing items directly from those associated with The KLF. Thus far, these individuals have chosen not to share, perhaps out of fear of diminishing the value of their KLF curiosities, but as the recent Deep Shit auctions have demonstrated that surely wouldn't happen! Over the years we've learned The KLF did indeed commission tiny runs of white labels and may have even had finished products prepped for release and pressed only to change their minds at the very last minute. While I don't think we'll again see such as massive clutch of items as recovered and released in recent years by PVC, I've no doubt that things either rumored or previously unseen will continue to surface on eBay and the net in general every few years. And don't forget PVC has one track left to share. I've no idea what it is but knowing him he probably saved the best for last! I think Dan has a point. There should be more out there. For example; the backgroundtune that is being played when B&J are on their way to the Helter Skelter party. It sounds kinda KLF-ish. Regarding E-Train, wasn't it (the late) John Milne who spoke of this? Kinda interesting also: http://www.popsike.com/php/quicksearch.php?searchtext=KLF&x=0&y=0 So, what's next?
I have to disagree. The band has been gone since 1992. With as much media that floated around, how can there be that amount left? Most of the tapes will have degrade. It has to come to an end unless Bill/Jimmy have a secret stash that no one knows about. IMO :-) **RMStringer** Emailed from my Samsung Galaxy Nexus. I like to think that Jimmy has a shed load of demo and unreleased work, that he would allow to fall into the wrong hands, so that it can be reworked and circulated. I live in hope that one day we will hear the proper full length 808 version of Madrugada Eterna, and as soon as we do, I'm off to the Sierra Nevada once more...... -----Original Message----- From: klf-bounces+jarvmeister=gmail.com@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:klf-bounces+jarvmeister=gmail.com@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of Robert Stringer Sent: 14 August 2012 19:11 To: All bound for Mu-Mu Land. Well, for the record I don't think there is a "ton" out there but I wouldn't discount a few bits and pieces, that is of course outside of whatever is in that storage container Jimmy discussed recently. Besides said storage container and whatever Stent might have (or Nick Coler, or ex-wives, or ex-girlfriends, or ex-employees, or uber-collectors who were connected around the time of their retirement) and besides what PVC turned-up on tape, Love Trance 12" was uncovered in the 90s and the Deep Shit 12" turned-up last year. That's something significant every decade or so. I'm not holding my breath for The Black Room sessions, but I wouldn't be surprised if the E-train 12" didn't surface, or some alternate/early versions of "Go to sleep" or "The Lover's Side" on white label vinyl test-press; basically the stuff that Lazlo's discography states as "unreleased" and not "uncompleted." This discography has proven itself to be eerily predictive in terms of what has much later surfaced. In terms of tape degradation, Adam did a bang-up job of completely restoring the early/alternate/remix version of Love Trance from near ruin. Even badly degraded tapes may be recovered if they find their way into the right hands. Dan Hutchins On Tue, Aug 14, 2012 at 2:10 PM, Robert Stringer <rmstringer@gmail.com>wrote:

Don't think so. "Sheriff" idea was scraped and B&J decided to go with Lover's side version, as they share the same base.

Actually, it was a video clip with B&J in the studio with a rapper (Bello? Ricardo? Black Steel?) and basically they just tested raps and shouts on top of the base. I think I have that clip somewhere, but it was originally really crappy real media clip :( Did anyone contact brandnew.co.uk owner back then and asked source for this? Fuck knows where you are. :D Quality sucks bad time, but it's still nice insight how they worked at the studio and how did it look like. Also for me, it's nice to see all the (unrecognizable) equipment and shit loads of cds for sampling. I recall that there were other clips too, but they were not very interesting. Just few seconds clips Jimmy smoking etc. Still wonder where did these come from originally. -- anttil.

This "proper performance" was done by our old friend Wanda Dee.The statements above can be combined to the following "An amazing (maybe 15 min long) version of WTIL with guitars was played by two men on keyboard new-years eve 89/90". Maybe this "metal-version" is related to "The Techno Gate", the one with Hendrix samples, (it took place before "Techno Gate" was released).A new book about the history of Coma-Club was released last year, maybe I should try to get a copy of this!Ulrik
