Bill Drummond "The Man" 2005 reissue CD on Castle
Where is it? I was listening today to the Lilac Time's "Astronauts + ", a 1991 CD on Creation reissued by Sanctuary/Castle in 2005. It's great, both in sound quality and information. The booklet has a four page essay by lead singer Stephen Duffy, single and promo record sleeve photographs, and best of all - seven bonus tracks! Now, if only the same thing had happened to "The Man". I know Bill says he can't remember much of the recording, and the only extra track was going to be "The Manager's Speech" 10 minutes version (wot, no "I Want That Girl (Instrumental)" or "Manager's Speech Edit", then?!) ... but can you imagine what a reissue with one of Bill's essays would be like? Well worth the £7.99! And yet, nothing appeared last year. And Amazon still list it, but as "limited availability". So, I've just e-mailed the record company to see what happened. You never know - I may get a reply! John
