Stampers and acetates!
I guess an acetate is a raw trial of a disc or CD to check for quality but I haven't a clue what a "stamper" is! Maybe someone could enlighten me? In ther meantime a big thanks go to members of the list who have helped me fill the gaps in my KLF collection with good quality copies of Lost Sounds Vol 2 and The White Room rather than dodgy fuzzy ebay copies! You know who you are and I thank you again...but I still don't know what a "stamper" is! S
Reading the "Musik-Express" (June 2013) for the first time that covers the KLF on 4 full pages, I stumbled upon the author mentioning a new musical project called "Chatham Forts". Billy Childish on vocals, Jimmy Cauty is on bass and Bill Drummond plays organ and xylophone. Has anyone of you heard of that specific band? For me it was the first time hearing about it and Google tells me a couple of 7" singles have already been released. And has this been discussed on this list before? Cheers, Danny --- a.k.a. Kuta
Mentioned on FB here, but not on this list.... https://www.facebook.com/notes/thee-wild-billy-childish-page/the-chatham-for... "BRAND NEW 2 TRACK 7” SINGLE out 8th April 2013 on Damaged Goods Another year and another name… This band is a little different to the recent stuff coming from Mr Childish, for a start he’s back on lead vocals, the sound is more akin to The Mighty Caesers / Headcoats with even a little of The Pop Rivets in there as well, a slightly angular, new wave approach. We will have the album tofollow in the summer oh yeah, it also has Jimmy Cauty and Bill Drummond on it as well…that’s the KLF to you." On the website of Damaged Goods (great name btw) you can find all the info on CTMF. Quite some singles out already and a CD album as well. After a short listen I decided to skip these records. Nonetheless it is fairly interesting seeing Jim and Bill record stuff together again, although it's not their own. http://damagedgoods.co.uk/band/?c=CTMF Cheers, Danny Am 06.10.2013 um 16:21 schrieb Nick King <nickwking@ntlworld.com>:

I have decided to pick up one of the singles for its novelty factor, but I could hardly recommend their output to anybody. - Thomas Von meinem iPad gesendet

Sure, I'll do a scan when I find the time. But the whole article is in German and doesn't reveal any unknown secrets about the guys. Actually, there are some annoying factual mistakes in it. As far as I know "I Wanna 1-2-1 With You" never made it to No. 1 and Tammy Wynette was neither drunk during the recording of "Justified & Ancient" nor was this version recorded for the White Room album. Furthermore he states that Bill & Jimmy sank all remaining copies of "1987" in the North Sea and only later decided to tell everybody that they had burned them. In my eyes a very poorly researched article for Musik Express' "Heroes" series. Cheers, Danny Am 06.10.2013 um 17:18 schrieb Antti Lavio <antti.lavio@possu.org>:

Was there anything interesting on article itself? Any possibilities to scan it?

On a related note, T-Mobile's Electronic Beats issue has an English two-page article (1 text/1 pic) on The KLF written by H.P. Baxxter on how he experienced WTIL? for the first time and what influence they had on Scooter. Surprisingly, this might be the better of those two articles... - Thomas Von meinem iPad gesendet

Now this is definitely something I would be interested in reading, considering how much influence has been visibly seen over the past long time. Is there a scan of this or an e-link? Sent from my iPhone

Available via here: http://www.electronicbeats.net/en/news/electronic-beats-magazine-fall-2013-h... (from memory, as I've picked up a previous issue, I think they're free when you pick them up)? :) On 6 October 2013 20:44, A Wolf <k_flewin@yahoo.ca> wrote:
