bring the beat back & unknown WTIL edit download
OK for Maarten and anyone else who is interested here is the tracklist for the 'Bring the Beat Back' CD-R bootleg I think this was *ahem* 'released' around 1997-98 and came on a blank blue cd-r in a card sleeve, printed sticker with the title and a nice little black inner sleeve but no other info/tracklist 1. WTIL (Power mix) 2. WTIL (Primal remix) 3. WTIL (Techno Slam mix) 4. WTIL (Pure Trance mix) 5. WTIL (Unknown edit - see below) 6. WTIL (DMC or similar mix - see below) 7. J&A (Anti-Accapella mix) 8. 3AM Eternal (feat ENT) 9. Madrugada Eterna (Club mix) 10.America WTIL (KLF92promo2 mix AKA What Time is January) I sometimes get the Primal & Techno slam mixes the wrong way around so just in case, the former has an intro before the 2001 sample, the latter starts with the sample and is generally 'slammier'! I also don't have 004T to hand so track 4 is the mix with a beat. Track 6 is the DMC or similar DJ remix that starts "What Time Is Love W-W-What Time Is Love Love" or whatever...not great. Track 5 is the aforementioned unknown edit i have never seen or heard elsewhere. Thomas, some time ago I shared this with the AudioGalaxy KLF group and you suggested it was the Power mix edit, but it's not! (incidentally the Power mix edit is an interesting track and quite different to the full mix IIRC). This edit has similarities with the Power, Monster Attack and Live at the Land of Oz mixes with similar (but different) 'live' drums, but is quite intense in it's tweaking and phasing if you turn up the volume. Accordingly I have uploaded it for people to check out, and have called it the evil (almost live!) edit, just for the hell of it: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=E39G8NIO ...is a WAV directly from the CD-R which my current computer drive seemed to manage OK sans the distortion i mentioned before (i had to do a bit of splicing due to the wonky track splits i mentioned). The distortion is possibly still present on the cymbal/hi-hat sounds as they sound a bit lispy, and there is a little background hiss at the end so if anyone feels the inclination to clean this up and probably do a better job than i could, please go for it For those lazy f*ckers, dial-up kids or those with only a mild interest here is an MP3: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=IM5YMBZA I would be interested to see what people think as I love this version...simple but effective, retaining the signature of the 004T mixes but a bit more varied and scary =) tbc. --------------------------------- Now that's room service! it shouldn't be exceeded unless you got something from megaupload earlier...try later i guess, and you can also try the MP3 which is a much smaller file i don't wanna copy the cd because 1. this is the only 'exclusive' track and the others are all available elsewhere and 2. it is sh*t, mostly distorted and has track splits everywhere sorry! tbc. i got the same thing - but it was picking the NTL ip address, not mine on the page where it tells you that your bandwidth has been exceeded, underneath there's an option where it tells you the ip address it used, and in my case, they listed three, one was NTL's, the other two were the same and both my actual IP address - so i selected one of those, hit the link in Simon's emai again, and then it all worked fine On 15 Jan 2007, at 23:22, Simon Glass wrote:
