I tried to have them replace my Shag Times, and Chill Out. They simply said they can only replace CDs still in print. Someone else mentioned that they will repress them if the demand is great enough, but they said nothing like that to me. PS - If anyone else has any rare Happy Mondays or Julian Cope CDs from the same era ("Wrote For Luck" original CD single, "Droolian", "Skellington", etc.) and is suffering from PDO rot, could you please contact me? I'd like to know if these CDs (which are all PDO btw) are affected too. You can e-mail me off-list if you prefer.
*Anything* produced by PDO UK ("MADE IN THE UK BY PDO") in the early '90's is possibly subject to bronzing. Some will, some won't. (Of course, there seems to be a direct relationship between the rarity of the CD and the liklihood of bronzing.) ;( I have a Julian Cope: Skellington that is definitely bronzing. I also have numerous CDs from The Beautiful Sounth, The Wonder Stuff, Marc Almond, etc, as well as numerous compilation CDs on PDO UK discs. Many, but not all of them, are showing signs of bronzing. A few years ago, I had PDO repleace a bunch of the affected CDs; has anyone been able to do that recently? I have a few more CDs that have started to go bad, and I've acquired more in the meantime...
