RE: [KLF] History Of The Jams/LTTT repress???
I doubt many of these vinyl History OTJ were made after the early 90's. So it's probably an old unopened copy, or maybe the store has a shrink wrap machine. The second item, however, was really unopened: History Of The Jams in vinyl, in perfect condition (with a red sticker and stuff). It was really unopened by anyone. My question goes like this: does TVT and Arista repressing these albums and singles on vinyl, or I'm just a lucky bloke to pick up a sealed treasure from 1988? (It doesn't matter too much anyway since I'm most happy, but I'd be curious...)

Artrepublic, in Brighton, had been showing the pictures, representing first, second and third class stamps, since May. The artworks were created by former pop star James Cauty, who was in the group KLF, and were a reflection of his stance on the war with Iraq. The Royal Mail had complained about the prints because it said they were a breach of its copyright. The gallery, in the North Lanes, took the pictures down on Friday. A spokesman for the gallery said: "It is true the images have been removed. "We are still in legal discussions with the Royal Mail. i'm affraid neither jimmy nor artrepublic have the resources to contest the issue with royal mail and have ceaded to their request that all original artwork including any items sold via the studio in brighton or online must be provided to the crown for destruction of course in the brief time the images were in the public domain (ie online) should certain independantly minded individuals choose to have downloaded said picture and had it put upon some t-shirts - well - wouldnt that be a fashion statement !!! rather reminiscent of malcolm mclarens glorious pistols garb :) ----- Original Message ----- From: "John" <k@fnord.demon.co.uk> To: "All bound for Mu-Mu Land." <klf@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Monday, June 16, 2003 9:42 PM Subject: [KLF] Gas mask Queen removed from gallery

*blink* *really* bunch of fucking twats, oh well royal mail will be bankrupt soon. Nice to know they had the time to spoil art. Anyhow i thought artistic parody etc. was protected in this country? (or something similar) I would have told them to fuckoff and take me to court. Adam -- jabberid = quinophex@jabber.earth.li AFFS || http://www.affs.org.uk/ || Not a filesystem
Not for the first time, JC comes a cropper with the coppers. Well not quite. Bloody students. The Royal Mail, I mean. Using my great x-ray powers of reverse psychology deduction, I rather suspect that the 'ROCKMAN ROCK' who's been making contributions to the Resonance FM Forum might be the man himself. I'm sure 'Rockman Rock' means little or nothing to the twenty-somethings who use the site but those of us of a certain vintage will recognise stuff in his profile. I've only spotted a couple last night as I haven't been on there for ages. See what you lot think.. http://www.resonanceforum.co.uk/discus/messages/5/272.html?1055796962 and http://www.resonanceforum.co.uk/discus/messages/5/337.html?1055794925 and especially, http://www.resonanceforum.co.uk/cgi-bin/discus/board-profile.cgi?action=view... And isn't that our ANDY R he's diggin'? Don't ask me. I'm off to see if I can find his favourite book on ebay! Nope. It seems some big freighter crashed into his boat and sunk it. He now lives in a defunct motorship that can't sail anymore that was given to him by the (watch this!) Kelly Family. So, in real Illuminatus Trilogy-mode here: Does that mean that The Timelords own a freighter boat that sinks boats occupied by a member of The Jamms? And also, are the Kelly Family somehow involved with the Jamms since they helped them??? The plot thickened accordingly... :)
Well, a submarine appears briefly in the video for LT2T...

Don't be silly, it's clearly Lorraine Kelly. Lorraine == "La Reine" == "The Queen" == Eris, Goddess of Discord jon -- "The tools we use have a profound (and devious!) influence on our thinking habits, and, therefore, on our thinking abilities." - Edsger Dijkstra

Mu (or Lemuria) is sort of the Pacific Ocean version of Atlantis. There is an english explorer, who's name I've forgotten, a bit of a Erich Von Daniken type character, who wrote about 6 fairly dreadful books about the lost city of Mu.
And what's this X$X then?
Now that's a FAQ question if every there was one. Basically its a name that anyone can use as a moniker for their art project. Whether the KLF ever produced anything under the X$X name is another matter. Other names that multiple people can use include Michael K, Monty Cautsin, Karen Elliot, and Luther Blisset, etc. cheers -- Stuart Young, Michelle Ardern & Felix Ardern-Young (2) have moved to: 42B, Sefton Ave, Grey Lynn, Auckland, NZ Same Phone: +64 (0)9 376 8100 say.map@ihug.co.nz Stuey is webmaster of the NZ Green Party: http://www.greens.org.nz/ And webmaster of his own personal website - a cobweb site: http://easyweb.easynet.co.uk/~stuey/
