RE: [KLF] Andy Kaufman Vs. the JAMs
What do others think?
I agree. There are other similarities (especially between Drummond and Kaufman). Apart from that, Kaufman's image was childlike, though in real life he had a huge appetite for women. If I understood Drummonds "King Of Joy" and "Married Man" the correct way, the same can be said about Drummond. I read Kaufman's biography (Lost In The Funhouse) and it's quite revealing AND shocking. If you add that once 1987 was played while a wrestling match, the similarities are even more outstanding. (Kaufman's love to wrestle women, etc.) Let's see more: 2. KLF's trip to Jura (Rites Of Mu)=Andy Kaufman's night (in the Metropolitan? I don't remember) where he took the audience for milk and cookies. That night must have been cost Kaufman a fortune. Just like the Jura trips. 3. Many claim that Kaufman "faked" his death, just like his hero, Elvis.=Many people (the guys at Muzik, for example) claim that KLF faked the whole Abba/money burning thing. Add Drummond's Elvisism, especially on "I Believe In Rock'n'Roll" and "Bad Wisdom". 5. The use of masks and costumes. Kaufman had an evil alter ego called Tony Clifton. He had other personas too: The Foreign Man, etc. The KLF had a million side projects... 23. BOTH Kaufman and The KLF have an unfinished/unreleased film!!!!!!! I can cite more, maybe, after browsing through "Lost In The Funhouse" a Gyerek P.s.: The film is great. Courtney (or Kurt-ney) is STILL a pretentious bitch, cashing in her husband's death. But You all know that already. _________________________________________________________________ Help STOP SPAM with the new MSN 8 and get 2 months FREE* http://join.msn.com/?page=features/junkmail
