Dont forget the chill out album on vinyl. plenty of bootlegs around usually hard to find records is a good source for detecting bootlegs. -k.

Firstly, welcome to the list!
I can't speak for Space either, but don't worry that some of the twelve inches have stamped (as opposed to handwritten) run-outs - it's all down to the pressing plant used. Certainly Doctorin' The Tardis and Burn The Bastards have stamped run-outs and as Paul says, none of these have been bootlegged.
You'll also probably find that bootlegs are run-off at smaller plants so are more likely to have handwritten run-outs (making KLF boots harder to detect sadly).
I think the most common bootlegs are:
JAMS LP1 "1987" - pretty good, only mistakes and typographic problems on the stickers on the LP let them down. SPACE LP1 "Space" KLF008R "Pure Trance 5 / Last Train To Trancentral" - should be pink, but not as pink as Pure Trance 2. Boot is almost red. Boot also has typeface issues on sleeve.
I'm sure there are plenty more...
Chris

Hi all,
This is my first posting to the list! Just wanted to find out once and for all if some of my collection are boots or not.
I'm concerned about the stamped run out groove that features on a few of my vinyls. This is seen on each of the following.
Who killed the Jams Burn the Bastards Downtown Doctorin the tardis
Does this mean they are all boots?
Also concerning the Space LP, How can you tell if it's a boot or not? Mine has a bar code in the top left corner with Made in England underneath. Then in the bottom left hand corner is Distributed by the Cartel. The Space writing is very red. There is no mention of KLF comms. If you look at the difference in the black surrounding the pictures and the black inside the pictures, it is a different tone. I think this could be a boot.
Can anyone help please?! Cheers Chris.
