Is It Really Grim Up North
Have any list members been to any of the places mentioned in IGUN and are they really that grim.
Yes. The M62, Leeds , Nantwich, Manchester. To thoroughly appreciate IGUN it's best to travel through the old mining communites up north and see the desolation that is left. How about a remix - "They're all pissed up north"? Instead of place names you could have Beer names! Andrew On Tue, Sep 02, 2003 at 01:06:13PM +0100, Mark Weston wrote:

From my point of view, you only need to travel as far as Stoke-on-Trent to be back in the industrial age. If you fancy it, try visiting Bury via the A666 (sic) - you'll see what I mean...

Yes I live in Scunthorpe. I moved back there from that London because I was sick of paying £600+ a month rent for a shoe box. Plus the fish and chips are better "up north" Cheerio Andy

at school one year (i think while trying to fend off the boredom of studying for mock a-levels) i photocopied up a big map of the north of england, and then tracked down and marked on it all those places. did the same for America took ages, cos although i'd photocopied the map, i'd failed to consider how useful the index would be with the reference co-ords i was hoping to find the outline of KLF or the pyramid blaster or even a pair of rabbit ears. sadly, it all seemed rather random -- Jai 'at'illitrate'dot'co'dot'uk --- "Do you hear that?
