You certainly did a great job back then! I still like the what goes on parts and the other mixes. Still helps me get asleep now and then. ;) I would like to have a first hand copy if possible. Maarten

Here's one for you all.
I finally caught up with the rest of the world and bought a computer. Got myself a mac from a friend ( he's a designer) in march of this year. One of the first things i do is go to a music download site (limewire) and type in KLF ( i've been a "FAN" of there work for many years) All the familiar stuff shows up but also something called CHILL OUT MEGA MIX ( ULTRA RARE ) so i promptly hit download. Thats where it got interesting.
You see in the late 80's my social life was one of raves, clubs. djing and general over indulgence, I was in and out of record shops and doing chill out tapes for the early hours back at friends houses. I started one such soundtrack in late '90 and wrapped it up early in '91. ( please stick with me, there is a reason for the long intro)
I didn't sell or do copies of the mixes, they where for myself and close mates. I did however trade one mix with a guy down south ( still know his name ). I'd been buying some rare KLF items from him and he'd asked if i had anything interesting.
Now fast forward 13 years. it turns out that the ULTRA RARE MIX is the very same peace i had created. THE original work was 22.34 long ( Half the length of a 45min cassette, because my fostex portastudio ran at double speed ) the tape i sent to aforementioned guy had the original mix plus several remixes, breakdowns and dubs. These have cropped up in various guises, WHAT GOES ON ? COMING DOWN OFF E etc etc.
There's a lot more i could prattle on about but the main point is that it's not some collaboration by the KLF and ALEX PETERSON, or some unreleased gem, it's just a MESS ABOUT by a 23 year old in his bedroom in Lancashire.
I can support these claims. I still have the original master tapes and would gladly give any of you a direct copy on CD. ( the copy that has been bootleged suffers from tape slip and isn't a patch on the original quality )
Thanks for letting me get that off my chest.
Mad what comes around eh. DISCUSS !!!!!!!!

This is worth buying just for the 'Neighbours' sample at the beginning...good old Madge Bishop and the one and only Tad Reeves, flying the flag for electronic music in Australian soap operas =) Nick King <nickwking@ntlworld.com> wrote:A new mix album "Too Many Fools Following Too Many Rules", featuring a track by the "Young MC & The KLF - You Know What Time It Is" http://www.juno.co.uk/IP/IF148831-01.htm Also, the Japanese version of the Youth album, featuring The Orb's "Apple Trees In My Backyard", is available here - http://www.juno.co.uk/IP/IF150902-01.htm L8rs, Nick ;-) _______________________________________________ KLF mailing list KLF@mailman.xmission.com http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/klf --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? Would it be worthwhile to set up a distribution tree for these recordings? I'm sure there are a lot of people on the list who would like to have them (like me) and a tree would take the stress off of any one person. I'm willing to assist in distribution if the idea of a tree is appealing.
