The Chill Out-Orb Rmx on your server is the "Chill Out Megamix" by Alex Paterson. It's listed in the discography by that name. The easiest way to separate it from the others is the monotonous and repetitive beat, as well as the samples of the child astronauts throughout. FYI Thrash said these samples came from a children's record called "Betty and Bobby Go to the Moon". The other 4 Chill Out mixes that you often find on the web came off a 4 track 12" that one of our list members owns. 2 tracks on each side. Many times I've seen it called Chill Out 2: Pt 1 & Pt 2, and Chill Out 3: Part 1 & Part 2. Although shorter, they are much closer to the commercial version of Chill Out in content and structure. I've seen them called many different things once they made it to the web in mp3 form. "Made @ 3AM Coming Down Off E" was another recording altogether. The name came from what was written (I think by hand) on the label. I believe it was another 12", though I can't remember for certain. I hope this helps. Here is the content of the text file I downloaded with some of these mixes a while back. Ironically it mentions "the Komp" and here we are discussing a possible 'Kompetition 2'! i have also heard this assertion from the "reliable" mr dutton *please note the use of the word "reliable" is expressly intended as irony* i have also spoken at length with the person that mr dutton asserts did put it together and that person (name witheld to protect the innocent) emphaticly denies that made @ 3am is anything to do with him not withstanding the tracks mysti origination i for one think it is a fabulous track which fits sweetly into the whole ambient house genre of chill out and space etc ----- Original Message ----- From: "Graham Scales" <litjen@easynet.co.uk> To: "'All bound for Mu-Mu Land.'" <klf@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Saturday, November 15, 2003 7:51 PM Subject: RE: [KLF] Other Chill out Mix?

Thanx for that information...didn't realise Thrash had referred to the remixes! Indeed regarding the various names this material appears under, one of the mp3s i have is called 'Chill Out Orb Remix' and another 'Chill Out 3 Track 2' though these are both very similar file sizes (17.2 Mb approx) and I have also seen them titled Chill Out 2 tracks 1 and 2! As you mention, Made @ 3AM is different again but has also appeared in a shorter version titled 'Chill Out Megamix'.
