Ebay seem rather arbitary about bootlegs - maybe they think that the KLF are fair game because of their name? £12 does seem a lot for a bootleg - but technically, I suppose, it's no more "illegal" than the CDs of "Ultra Rare Trax" or "Lost Sounds" that litter the site; or even the red-cover "1987" CDs. The trick is, find the silver CDs - not the CDRs (I managed to find a compilation of early Brilliant tracks that was a silver CD on Ebay a couple of months ago, which I was pleased with). I'm not sure whom would bid for this who wasn't (a) a mad collector or (b) aware of the fact that they were buying a homemade CD sourced from mp3s. Maybe an unknowing teenage Scooter fan could stumble across it and get into a bidding war - but otherwise, and buyer would be bidding with their eyes wide open, I would think. At least the auction isn't full of spurious "promo" bollocks like this one: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/The-KLF-The-JAMMS-DEEP-THE-CULT-OF-MU_W0QQitemZ2802258... And then there's the bootleg "Space" CDs which are listed on Ebay as genuine - although, maybe sometimes the sellers in that case don't realise ...
