Is is possible for someone to give me some valuations for my KLF stuff? I have the following, all are good condition: 12" JAMS LP1 1987: What the fuck is going on? Bootleg of original 12" JAMS LP1 1987: What the fuck is going on? 45 Edits with instructions 12" JAMS LP2 <No Title> with insert 12" JAMS LP3 Shag Times gatefold 12" JAMS LP4 What time is Love Story 12" JAMS LP5 Chill Out 12" JAMS 27T Down Town in picture sleeve 12" KLF 010T Kylie said to Jason with poster I have other KLF vinyl but they are not as rare.... White Room, Last Train to Transcentral, 3AM Eternal, etc... I also have a single sided 7" Top of The Pops remix of (I think) 3AM Eternal. I have been told this is quite rare, can anyone give me some info on it? How many copies are out there and how it came about? I was also told that you couldn't buy it in the shops... My guess is that it was part of a prize from a competition or something. Cheers Rich

Always a tricky thing to do. KLF stuff is worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it! The answer is probably "not as much as you would like". I've been following KLF prices on eBay and EIL for years now and prices have remained pretty much static during this time, which means a decrease in real terms. Everything apart from the *extremely* rare stuff (that is, stuff that was thought never to have been released at all, usually) will usually appear once every six months or so, so that collectors who have only a regular amount of patience are quite able to "pass" on an overpriced item and wait for it to appear again. Plus, the number of bootleg re-releases in recent years has also dampened the market. (Having said that, I still don't believe what bootleg KLF compilation videos sell for sometimes.)

IMHO, the bootleg is worth a fiver and the rest probably a tenner to 20 quid. On a good day on eBay you could probably get twice that though. The world is a fickle place. I think the JAMS LP2 (actually called "Who Killed The JAMS?") is probably the rarest item there, followed by KLF010T, then What Time Is Love Story.

I think you're referring to the Brit Awards version of 3Am Eternal, done with Extreme Noise Terror. That's a rarer item than anything else you listed. For info on pressing numbers the best place to check is the discography at www.klf.de. (Where it says this item was limited to 1000 copies.) And it came about because Bill and Jimmy wanted to "go out with a bang". <grin> Michael

Hi All This isn't the ENT single, this is a pressing of 3AM with the intro removed.[Gunfire OK everyone...] If you cast your mind back to when 3AM was released during Gulf War 1, the press ( well here in the UK) were wary of any media references to "war" "bomb" "attack". Do you remember Massive Attack changed their name to Massive for a brief period. The pressing was made at the request of Scott Piering for distribution to radio stations following feedback on why the KLF weren't getting the airtime they deserved. So in essence it's a promo only copy. How do I know this? I was there in the trenches at Appearing. Andy

The radio freedom-release, I think, had a normal SSL-cover, but with a small (silver??) label saying "machinegunfire removed".
By the way two different releases was made with the ENT-version, the official mail-order-only (onesided, verey rare), and a "bootleg" (2-sided, with same tracks on each side), which mighth have been released by ENT. Ulrik

If it is the Top Of The Pops Remix, then it would be the ENT single, because it has written Top Of The Pops on it with large black letters... <smartass mode> The single you are referring to is the Radio Freedom Edit, and I never heard anyone saying "OK everyone" on 3 a.m. eternal... ;-) </smartass mode> --- Thomas Touzimsky International Man Of Mystery
Hello Thanks for the help everyone. Just to clear up, I checked the 3AM Eternal 7" and it is definitely single sided with Top of the Pops Remix written across the label in print. So I guess this is the mail order release! Nice! A lot of my KLF records came from a friend who I used to swap records with. So that's why I don't know where some of them originated from. We were both avid record collectors at the time. Just to make you all sick ;-) ,,, our local record shop (knaresbourgh, UK) often bagged up unknown / not selling very well 12" singles, put them in a bag of 5 and sold them for 99p. Well my friend bought a bag, only to find it contained 5 white label promo's of early JAMs stuff with hand written notes / labels by Jimmy and Bill. Shame you don't get that everyday! Rich
