It seems to me everyone is getting off track here. One thing should be kept in mind: What is the point? Are you trying to revitalize K to celebrate the 20th? Or just to litter the land with a bunch of CDs by our favorite band? If the target audience is 'everyone' then the track list needs to be tailored to everyone. If some random 30-something found one of these and popped it in to give it a try and first thing he heard was Kylie Said Trance he'd probably stop right there and toss it out the window. If the point is to celebrate the 20th, then that's what the CD should be about, and kept down to one disc to make it easier on everyone. A couple years ago, also encouraged by a post by Mr Milne, I compiled a History CD which I quite enjoy and feel it flows well. So here's the tracklist if anyone is interested. (I tried searching for my original post but couldn't find it) All You Need is Love Original Whitney Joins the Jams (custom 7" edit) Downtown 7" Burn the Beat (7 inch, from OZ History CD) Disaster Fund Collection (from same CD) Doctorin the TARDIS 7" What Time is Love Power 7" (the Evil would be better methinks) 3am Eternal Pure Trance edit Kylie Said to Jason 7" Madrugada Eterna club edit What Time is Love Live at Trancentral radio 3am Eternal SSL 7" Last Train... Lost Continent 7" IGUN radio Justified and Ancient : Stand by the Jams 7" America What Time is Love 7" K Cera Cera The Magnificent ***K the Millennium 7" (custom mix) All the hits. One CD. Listenable. Truckstop JAMs is a GREAT title, BTW. My .02. -paul
2 major points i would have to agree with here: 1. "Truckstop JAMs" is indeed a great title 2. It should be a single CD despite what I said before...but how can us fanboys/girls(?) reach a consensus re. a tracklist? grrrrr....we could put it to a vote but the snob in me says that a lot of the more obscure edits, many of which would fit so well on a single CD too, will be overlooked...=/ tbc. Sounds very good, i have been listening to The Magnificent on a KLF mix CD in my car and i thought it would be good to put as the very last song on the CD a great ending track. And it all fits on a CD? ----- Original Message ----- From: TheMgnt@aol.com To: klf@mailman.xmission.com Sent: Thursday, January 18, 2007 7:30 PM Subject: [KLF] Focus ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ It seems to me everyone is getting off track here. Looks perfect to me, let's make it a goer!. Keep the extended mixes and 'underground' stuff for another time (23rd anniversary?). I think we need to make mention of R.A.W in the sleevenotes. One CD is definitely the way to go as it makes it easier for everyone to buy standard CDRs in a standard jewel case when we are creating the copies for 'further distribution', rather than a '2CD' fold out jewel case which might be a bit more difficult to obtain. Listenable. Btw did anyone listen to the mix I did of some of the more underground KLF tracks? Never got any feed back which led me to believe that it sucked (or people didn't appreciate samples of a certain Mr P Gadd!). The link is http://www.j1sproductions.com/KLF.htm if anyone wants it. Track list is: Gary Minimal Space (Mars?) IGUN club Shag Times 118bpm PSB So Hard Kylie Said Trance 3am Klonk Let Them Eat Ice Cream Me Ru Con I was experimenting with Ableton Live at the time so there are some (probably un needed) samples and stuff that I added, but it is all mixed to perfection!! Then I got bored and gave up.. I still listen to it now and then in the car and think it's ok. Cheers RiCh!
I will give it a listen, many thanks Elliott ----- Original Message ----- From: RiCh! To: 'All bound for Mu-Mu Land.'
