"Bill Drummond, formerly of prank popsters The KLF, will be presenting his latest project, The 17, in Fylkingen, Stockholm, between 13-25 March. The 17 are a choir made up of the musically and non-musically inclined alike, whose performances will be neither recorded nor even performed before an audience as such, and whose content will bear scant relationship to conventional laws of melody, harmony and rhythm, Performances will take place in such public places as schools, prisons, weddings and funerals, with Fylkingen the base for the group's activities, which will include a workshop, gallery and rehearsal room. How We Made: The KLF 'Chill Out' (Wax Trax) KLF CO-FOUNDER BILL DRUMMOND ON THE ALL-TIME AMBIENT CLASSIC. "When we were having big orbital raves out in the country, you'd dance all night, the sun would come up in the morning and you'd be surrounded by this English rural countryside. We wanted something that reflected that. And the music sums up that feeling of the day after the rave." Released in 1990, the album feels like a woozy morning journey through the Southern US - and that's reflected by the names of the tracks: 'Six Hours To Louisiana', 'Black Coffee Going Cold' and '3AM Somewhere Out Of Beaumont'. "We thought it had the feeling of that sort of trip. I love maps and atlases and I love place names, and I just sat down with the atlas and saw the journey that it was and it all seemed to fit." ----
