They released it on CD. On another note, one of my copies was stolen. It's really upsetting since I know so few were pressed. I guarantee the person who stole it had no idea of its value. Anyway, I have an empty case if anyone wants to make me an offer. RE: [KLF] Shag TimesK, I have a HALF full case - which means, I have the CD but it hardly plays on my CD-Player anymore :-*( I wouldn't spend my money on another copy since like most of the original KLF UK pressing CD's you never know when it's goin' to die on you. I just dont think it's worth it - do you? Who's next, TWTILS KSTJ CHILL OUT ? I think I'm gettin' a headache, buy non-UKlf pressing CD's Anyway, I have an empty case if anyone wants to make me an offer.
I didn't think CDs ever wore out....! Unless you mean it's just scratched to the point it won't play anymore :( Chris David A wrote:

Well, I guess I know what he means: Early CDs are suffering from some kind of decomposing. My Shag Times CD (and some other older ones) has started to loose its shiny silver at its edges. -- +++ GMX - Mail, Messaging & more http://www.gmx.net +++ NEU: Mit GMX ins Internet. Yeah I can read TOU LLIHC On the back of my Chill out CD - there again my White label copy won't rot LOL ;) Andy

As far as I know, all copies of the Shag Times CD were "Manufactured by PDO". Massive numbers of CDs made by this plant around that time (1985-1990) are now suffering from "laser rot" because the ink they used to print the CDs actually corrodes the aluminium layer, or something like that. You can tell your CD has it if it has started to develop a Bronze colour rather than silver, particularly towards the outer edge of the disc. My Shag Times CD has it quite bad, so that the last track reads with errors when I put it through EAC (Exact Audio Copy). My KSTJ CD has the rot too, but being a cd single, all the data is towards the centre, away from the problem area. My "Give Peace A Dance" CDs also have the rot, and unfortunately "What Time Was Love?" is also the last track on the CD, so it is now suffering from glitches. A couple of years ago I used EAC to rip all those discs, at 1x extraction speed etc. to make sure I was getting the best possible rip. I then burnt myself copies that I use for playing while the originals remain untouched inside their covers with a bit of silica gel thrown in for good measure. (I know some people even store their damaged discs in acid-free paper sleeves to further protect them.) So... My final point? If you bid on that auction, ask the seller if all the tracks play properly first! Michael
