My KLF8R says KLF 8R - A1/B1 - P R P Interesting mail by the way. But.. would like to see them myself. About those pressings; was he there at the time? I still find it hard to believe but have to agree with the fact there could be a " Monte Cristo" like treasure out there which still needs to be discovered. Those 4R white labels are rather interesting. As far as I know I never came across a piece of vinyl like this. Is there anyone who's the proud owner of a w/l 4R? One day.. one day... interesting stuff- i have not really being following the ins and outs of all of this, but i would like to question 1 thing... DAMONT was one pressing plant, Adrenalin was another (Which later became PR, then Alphamagic, all of which went bust) so to have Damont scratched out would suggest that the plates were from Damont then moved to adrenalin... unless KLF stopped using Damont you would never do this as they all charge to remove plates- so what i am saying is that anything moved from Damont to Adrenalin is a bit suspect to say the least. Having just had a quick look at run out grooves they do seem to use both plants, rather worryingly my KLF 8R has Pr p on it and i picked that up at a record fair sometime between 97 and 98? If people get a chance could they check thier 8R(s) to see if theirs are different (as i seem to have a genuine cover but the vinyl itself maybe dodgy). ----- Original Message ----- From: dan@danhutchins.com To: All bound for Mu-Mu Land. Sent: Friday, March 02, 2007 2:56 AM Subject: [KLF] And Chris Peel says... ________________________________ Hey all, Well, after the Love Trance discussion exploded again around Christmas time, I got in touch with Chris Peel regarding the authenticity of the "nr" run-out grooved Love Trance 12 inches. Chris related to me that his significant other gave birth to a little girl in January and he doesn't have time to spend chatting with the list these days, but he is still a member and monitors the conversation. Anyway, with his permission, I'm passing this info along to the list... The guy showed me his Adrenalin pass (which could have been mocked up using Paintshop Pro, of course) and he also showed me a stack of KLF records, including: 2 x KLF004R white labels 1 x KLF004M single-sided 2 x KLF006T Fully labelled up and in p/s 1 x KLF007T in luminous yellow vinyl - labelled up but in standard "KLF" sleeve 1 x KLF008T in sea-green sleeve with "E. Train to Trancentral" on it 1 x KLF 92 PROMO 2 clear vinyl 1 x KLF 92 PROMO 3 4 x KLF USA 4 7" multicoloured vinyl (actually they were all in various orange/yellow/grey colours) As well as all these, he had this bundle of KLF006T's which he claimed were a 'secondary run' arranged by B&J but still produced at the plant - presumably off different plates though. I checked the various records above for the usual giveaways (machine-printed run-outs, missing ADRENALIN wording, etc.) and they all appeared genuine - I even got to buy a fair few of them off him for what I considered to be seriously good prices. I bought the bundle of 006Ts (I think there were 7 of them when I actually counted) as a job lot. Now, if you're thinking this all smacks of a scam then I'd agree - it does - _but_ this guy had some seriously rare stuff so either: a) he's a collector and he made these extra 006T's himself b) he's genuine and he made these extra 006T's himself c) he's genuine I'm still with (c) - he was really down to earth, didn't look like he needed the money, wasn't trying to force me to buy the items, and actually sold me some really rare - unbootlegged - releases for a fraction of their usual selling price. As for the people dismissing it as a fake - there are a number on the list who don't believe it's a KLF record, period - even if it has the ADRENALIN and scratched out DAMONT markings on it! I've been collecting KLF records for over 15 years now and I'm in the camp that believes it's genuinue and that there's even some pressed up 007T's out there... I think there are white label/test pressings from every pressing run they ever made. Before actual run, plants always do test pressings. Jon doe wrote:

Well, they were the KLF so this is highly possibble ;) If you look at 4R, other side is Orlake and other side is Damont. What happend there? -- antti l.
. One of the few gaps in my collection, I have never seen a w/l 4R. All of the pure trance white labels seem to be very rare, perhaps with the exception of 004T even 8R w/l seems to turn up more often than 005T & 005R. Antti Lavio <antti.lavio@possu.org> wrote: Maarten Bouwes wrote:

I agree, 8R white labels are pretty rare but 5T and 5R are like hens teeth! No idea why these later releases are so scarce; maybe DJs had twigged by then that they were in posession of something with significant value in 20 years time! ;-) Tim Tim wrote:

Hi KLFers, I'm searching for people on the list who might be recording music inspired by KLF ideas for a series of interviews I want to do at Gearwire.com. If you are doing anything musical at all in a home studio setting, I'd love to send you some email questions (off list, of course) and do an interview, plug your new music project, etc. I've been meaning to do this for a long time, but just never got round to it til now...please drop me a line off-list: jwallace (at) gearwire (dot) com. Many thanks in advance, and if this posting is a source of annoyance, please let me know. Cheers! Joe Wallace Editor Gearwire.com --------------------------------- Don't pick lemons. i think that applies to a lot of the more 'club' singles and promos, it's actually pretty hard to find mint or near mint copies of even some of the more common 12" singles i got an 004R a while back from ebay & it was in quite poor condition, though wasn't listed as such. first negative feedback i gave. since then there have obviously been many copies but it is always worth checking the condition which is often just vaguely "used" 004Y is a similar story & is often a bit battered, doesn't help that it was mastered kinda quiet with the odd crackle and pop inevitably interrupting the Virtual Reality Mix on many copies tbc.
