"For All Mankind" Apollo Documentary
http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00lkvtr/For_All_Mankind/ Available for another few days, the Eno-soundtracked 1989 Apollo documentary which was HEAVILY sampled by Cauty and Patterson on various records in 1989-1991 (especially "Adventures Beyond ... " and the last 30 seconds of the 12" WTIL Live at Trancentral). Worth a look, and I'm sure at least a few moments should have you all double-taking in recognition! Happy New Year when it comes, everyone! John

I'm curious. How many fans managed to get one of these CD singles when they came out? At the time, I was on Prodigy, and I actually just posted a note in one of the Israel groups and asked someone to pick one up. I mailed some cash and even got some sheckels back for change along with the CD single. Did anyone have to go to any magnificent lengths to get one? Or were people just patient enough to wait until they started filtering out into the secondary market? Happy New Year everyone... jr (who has been on this list since '92 ..yikes!)
Hi: Believe it or not, I never was able to get one, and had only heard a sample of it.As I recall, it was supposed to be from the "K" Foundation, correct? I remember a magazine advert for it, and that the group said the single would not be released until "World peace had been achieved." P. That's right. The original article I'd read said they were recording with the red army choir, and that the single would only be released if there was world peace. Then after Arafat and Sharon (?) were hugging on TV, they were inspired to only release 1500 copies in Israel/Palestine. Seems like there were both CD singles and Cassette singles? It's all a bit fuzzy now. Either way, it was one of those early moments in the internet when I thought, wow, this thing's handy. :) jr ----------------------------------------- Jeremiah "Spassvogel" Rickert 6'7" 350 lbs of Dr. Pepper and Pez Candy. -----------------------------------------

There were adverts in Record Collector for at least a year afterwards for Black Hole Music (?) in Tel Aviv, advertising the CD for £10 and the cassette for £7.50. I got mine (from that shop, via mail order) about a year after release, in October 1994. John Happy new year!!! On Fri, Jan 1, 2010 at 12:35 AM, Paul Allgood <wedlockmusic@gmail.com>wrote:

FYI: If you own a Region 1 DVD player, or multi-region DVD player, the Criterion Collection has "For All Mankind" available on DVD. More information on the Criterion Collection set can be found here: http://www.criterion.com/films/599 It's also available on Blu-Ray. I would recommend it, since Criterion is famous for literally going all out in maintaining the highest picture and sound quality for their releases. Because of this, their films come with a premium price, but it's well worth it if you are a fan. ________________________________ From: "paranormalhandy@googlemail.com" <paranormalhandy@googlemail.com> To: All bound for Mu-Mu Land. <klf@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Wed, December 30, 2009 10:42:46 AM Subject: [KLF] "For All Mankind" Apollo Documentary http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00lkvtr/For_All_Mankind/ Available for another few days, the Eno-soundtracked 1989 Apollo documentary which was HEAVILY sampled by Cauty and Patterson on various records in 1989-1991 (especially "Adventures Beyond ...
