Was watching the list for any news of a KLF tribute I read about in last month's XLR8R but haven't seen a thing, whats the exact name and does anyone have a "sample" up on slsk? Oh also if you brits wanna become bluemen, all you need to know is the company that manufacturs the special grease paint the use: http://www.mehron.com/retail/
Is it the 12" series that's being released by the Blaou label? So far there are three 12" singles: What Time Is Love? - Richard Villalobos Justified & Ancient - Schaffhauser vs. Deichkind Build a Fire - Glove they're actually really weak, all of them, but you can get them at www.fe.org if you really want them. i wouldn't waste your money. I quite like the "J & A" one. The b-side version, done by an indie band (?), is no more weak than the Orb-produced version of the Velvet's "What's Goes On?" by the Love Kittens. And talking of the Orb ... has anyone else noticed the trailers for the new BBC sci-fi sit-com that uses tracks from "U F Orb" as the music? I'd like to see Sunn O))) cover a KLF song, because, well, they already ARE a KLF tribute in posture, image, and industry savvy... On Tue, 10 Jan 2006, John Milne wrote:

They sound interesting ... if only they didn't look like Kyuss roadies. :-) A click lead me to the Headheritage site, and a review from Julian Cope himself of one of their albums. Also on Headheritage is this review of "Space": http://www.headheritage.co.uk/unsung/review/180 The KLF/Orb chronology is all wrong, of course, but the two comments at Bill Drummond's expense (the reviewer, "Lord Lucan", finds his influence tiresome on "Chill Out", and just generally does not seem to like him) lead me to wonder ... is this actually written by Copey himself? Or does he not allow any comments on "head heritage" if they are approving of people the Drood does not like? I recall the sleeve notes of JC's "20 Mothers" album, which included a barbed comment about Drummond producing "patriachal literature" (although, he may have a point there, I suppose) ... I like both sides of the J&A cover, they're good cover versions of a silly song.

Aye, looking forward to that! Nick Frost and the actor Kevin Eldon alone should make it worth watching. jon
The actor Kevin Eldon? I trust weak lemon drinks will be in evidence while you watch it, Jonathan! :-) John PS - Nick Frost is good, but sometimes I think he "impersonates" old mate Simon Pegg in his timing and delivery ... we shall see though. Could be the "Red Dwarf's Guide to the Galaxy" for the new millennium (although calling a spaceship "Camden Lock" does not really have us rolling in the ailses north of Watford ... ) ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jonathan Wakely" <cow@compsoc.man.ac.uk> To: "All bound for Mu-Mu Land." <klf@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Tuesday, January 10, 2006 10:03 PM Subject: Re: [KLF] Tribute and Blueman

Haha! yes. and jelly! Straying further off-topic: I saw Stewart Lee live recently and it was one of the funniest things I've ever seen I think I'll go download some fist of fun stuff now

He might play it differently without Pegg there. It starts tomorrow so we'll see soon enough. jon - King of hobbies -- "Who mistook the steak for chicken?" - Moldy Peaches
