my solution was to get an iPod
I can go one better than that, one of my DVD players plays mp3s as well. I could have simply dug out my CDRs of KLF mp3s, stuck it in and hit Random, but that's not really the point. I'd like to just make a cd of good stuff - not have to hear five mixes of Kylie when I really want to hear Build a Fire. And you dont want to have to program a playlist every time either. I have made a number of compilation tapes, but these were mostly focused on what I was into at the time, or a way to hear new acquisitions. But that was a few years ago. I guess I'll probably make a two disc set -- best way to spread things out but there will still be a large amount of repetition (heck, I even forgot to include the Acid mix of WTIL which brings that up to 26m or so). I've also been meaning to convert everything into organized CDrs: 2cd set of WTIL mixes, 1987 and related b-sides on one disc, WKTJ and related, disc or two of 3am.... Had it all organized once but deleted the spreadsheet thinking I had a backup. But didn't. -paul Currently in rotation: We're a Happy Family - (Ramones Tribute) - VA; Bongos Bass and Bob - Never Mind the Sex Pistols, Here's...; Pet Shop Boys - Release / Disco 3

there you go then - 4.5gig of mp3s - that's gotta hold just about every klf mp3, no? :) :)

tricky - what is good at one time of the day might not suit a later bit. i did a similar thing when i was using a minidisc player to listen to goign back and forth from work - i had one md with just the trance-y tracks. one with my favourites from the early JAMs stuff. and another with all the 1990+ KLF tracks but again, you had to hit random - doesn't matter how dedicated a fan you are, eventually you HAVE to stop listening to 3AM remixes and move on to LTTT...

but when are you ever gonna want 140mins of what time is love? even if you can take it yourself, i'm not sure the others listening would be so keen - a sure fire way to stop everyone at a party from drinking all your booze :) :) or is it for the more intensive sessions of indoctrinating infidels to the Church of the KLF?? strap them to a chair, put the cans on their ears and come back in almost 2 and a half hours later to a drooling, but fully converted KLF fan :) :) :) -- jai nelson jai@illitrate.co.uk http://www.illitrate.co.uk --- "I've got to go" "Yeah we all have to go sometime sir, but you can choose when."
