Did everyone of you who ordered the WhiteRoom DVD from Andy actually get the stuff? I ordered mine about 1.5 month ago, payment with paypal is completed but I don't get a response from Andy to my mails and the DVD didn't arrive either yet, so I'm curious. I really would like to have the stuff cu Adrian -- Adrian Gschwend @ netlabs.org ktk [a t] netlabs.org ------- Free Software for OS/2 and eCS http://www.netlabs.org

No worries - just too much on at work before Christmas plus printer problems and lack of decent media has all resulted in 4 parcels being delayed (inc you Seb!) Seeing as it's new year I have a couple of drinks inside me. Adrian's comments nearly started my own little flame war and a paypal refund. Thank god for the backspace key! Seeings as how circumstances have delayed you putting this project to bed yet, is it too late to order copies of these DVDs? I haven't been on the list long & I missed the announcement. Dave Brzeski
I got mine in time for Christmas and the quality is superb, well worth a little wait anyway ;-) Cheers Andy! Justin the process of compiling remaining TV appearances (TOTP etc) onto an SVCD or two (I don't have a DVD burner...sob)...can anyone suggest good (and preferably free) software which will enable me to convert Real rm and/or Quicktime mov files to avi or mpg? Thanx! David A <b0red@Bezeqint.net> wrote:

Before I forget it, I got the DVD's now and I am *very* pleased by the content and quality of it. For sure the MPEG Streams are not always perfect but if I compare the stuff to what I've found in the net so far the quality is astonishing! The quality of the sound-files is not that high however, but this could be solved in a next release of the DVD with remastered sound (or simply replaced sound-tracks taken from CD's). I think most of the tracks should be available on CD directly as far as I saw (unless it's some special versions who never got released). A friend of mine is playing around with that, he is quite into audio stuff. Thanks again Andy for the excellent work and sorry for the pre-blaming! After some experiences on this list in the past with videos and such stuff I got a bit too suspicious... However, you absolutely hold your promise! cu Adrian -- Adrian Gschwend @ netlabs.org ktk [a t] netlabs.org ------- Free Software for OS/2 and eCS http://www.netlabs.org
Went to a Porn shop to buy some gag gifts for a friend's birthday this weekend, and white room was playing the whole time. Significance? Yes. You win. Ecna Lubmatic

Hi Perhaps I should check out my local Porn shop then? Maybe I'll find a copy of Shag Times. Mike ________________________________________________________________________ Yahoo! +Thanks for the positive comments Adrian. I thought about replacing some of the tracks but when you watch it a few times you realise how much "foley" or atmospheric sound effects there are. I think they add to the experience. Personally I'd have loved it to be in surround (or 5.1!) but I've never tried transcoding a 2.0 stereo into surround. Anyone else tried? I chatted with John (Milne) about using the origial OST album as an alternate audio track but I "just don't have the skills to pay the bills" where sound editing is concerned. Andy
This echoes a previous thread too...as Don pointed out, a lot of the video edits probably differ slightly from the audio edits available and with stuff like 'Waiting' you can always synchronize the CD/mp3 with the DVD if your TV set up and stereo are close together or integrated...it works well believe me! Could also work with the Rites of Mu although i'm not sure offhand if they are the same versions (MTV/Sheen/Piering or whatever) I think a 'new' high qual soundtrack for the White Room sounds like a good challenge though...unfortunately I don't yet have the 'skills' either! ah ok that could be. Well I think we could do quite a lot already with noise-reduction. I have a quite good highend setup at home and IMHO the noise-level is high (typical "analog"-noise) Will play around with a friend on the audio tracks when time permits. As soon as we reach something I will for sure inform the list cu Adrian -- Adrian Gschwend @ netlabs.org ktk [a t] netlabs.org ------- Free Software for OS/2 and eCS http://www.netlabs.org
