Just wanted to welcome myself to the list. I've been a member of the orb list off and on for the past 5 years, and that is my favorite band.. but I got sick of some people ignoring my questions relating to klf there. I finally got the hint. WTF has the Orb been doing lately anyhow? Certainly not having to make public announcements about some singer impersonating them because they alledgedly sampled her without their permission... or adding 'fuck' to a Celine Dion song title. I love a good scandal. Thats why I like the KLF, the id, the ego and the personality behind it is almost unimaginable. If you, like me, grew up in rural Wisconsin and listened to alot of the White Room at the age of about 9 or 10 years old, you'd be tripped out to find the connection, eventually, between the KLF and your new favorite band orb (discovered by me exactly 10 years later). I can only imagine what it would have been like to have more of these other records back then to subject my undeveloped, incognicant child brain to. Besides, Thrash calling you a twat gets old fast and Alex and the Orb are just plain too nice and normal compared to people dressing up like ice cream cones, burning up piles of cash or whipping donuts in an old police car thats supposed to have 'written' the album. Anyhow.. thanks all. Remember, I'm jealous that you UK fans have a lot more access.. so I demand you retell me lots of eccentric Jim Cauty tales in the future.. p.s.I must say I love the old videos.. what a trip.. where is the kid from Grim Up North now (if thats not a midget with the radio). p.s.s. The Bill Drummond disk with the Blizzards "In the Ghetto" and all is spectacular as well.. and while I hated Blacksmoke at first, now I'm hooked. - http://hydrallus.blogspot.com
I run a KLF archive and I have all their music as well as the orb stuff. I have about 13 gigs of KLF with all their videos and also about 13 gigs of ORB(Rare and Out OF Print) stuff. I am RMStringer/Renigade and I run renigadehq.dyndns.org ftp. Did we visit with each other? I used to live in Indiana and visited a person in Wisconsin and we traded programs for music around 2000?
